I ask because when i'm out and about at pawn shops...I'll stumble across a cart and wonder if I have that game...I know you can do it easily on a phone but I don't have a cell phone/smart phone. I also know I could just make a list and print it out but I don't want to carry around a bunch of papers.

I was thinking that maybe a little journal or something that I could slip into my backpack would work if nothing else. But i'm hoping someone might have a better idea lol.

Although I couldn't name every game in my collection if you asked me to, I'm definitely capable of remembering if I own a game or not if I spot it in a shop. I never used a list back then, and still dont.

Pretty sure a page or two of small-font printout in your wallet or backpack is less paper than a journal would be...

Well yes but a journal wouldn't rip or get crumpled up and such. And not everyone is blessed with a good memory alienjesus and aramonde...

I think I'll just go with a small handheld journal.

Another question though. We've all seen the replica Zelda shield and sword. Now where do you get one. And don't say ebay/amazon...I don't want to buy a cheap replica from China and have it end up not being of quality...bad paint job and all that. I could find a seller in the US and hope it's not a cheap Chinese peice of shit but I don't want to find that out after I buy it.

Most of those replica swords are so "off" looking. So many inaccurate details.

I've seen some really nice ones, but they were almost uniformly one-off custom ones that probably cost insane amounts of cash.

I could maybe see if you had a huge collection of like over 500 games. but even then i still think i would remember most of it. And i don't have a good memory at all lol. Maybe i just have one when it comes to things i own.

I've got over 400, and I can at least remember all the high value stuff I've picked up over the years, so at least there's not really any chance of me accidentally buying a second copy of Earthbound or something.

It's the super cheap games that I'm most at risk for picking up dupes of. Even then though, accidentally re-buying a $1 game isn't really a big deal.

I know some people that cosplay Link and have made swords and shields. I asked about one of their swords and he said it took him about 100 hours to make, so to sell they would probably put a price at $600ish, if they still have all the molds.

As for the list, I use to carry one when I was looking for games all over the spectrum. I however have narrowed down what I want and have a small list of games that I run through my head when I am looking.

I own 239 SNES games, and I can't keep them all straight, especially when you start getting into annual titles like sports games, long series that I'm not a big fan of or are based on a property, or games with variant editions. There are a few games that can give you pitfalls, such as Jeopardy(there are three), ClayFighter(there are two versions of the first game), Mario All-Stars(there are two), NBA Jam(two, but there are 10 SNES games that start with NBA), or even Ren & Stimpy(there are four, I own two...don't ask which two). Now some of it I can remember, such as remembering that I own Bass Masters Classic: Pro Edition, but not Bass Masters Classic, but I couldn't tell you exactly which Maddens I own or what every NHL game is that I own(there are six NHL SNES games, and one NHLPA). And what is the difference between Nobunaga's Ambition and Nobunaga's Amibition: Lord of Darkness?

To GirlGamer, I'd say use the notebook or notepad method, but only focus on the consoles you are actively collecting for so you can save space. And don't forget to regularly update the list to reflect purchases you've made, so you don't end up rebuying things because your info is out of date. This may not work if you have a massive collection, so for me a smartphone is a godsend. But for fewer than 100 titles, it can help keep things organized.

Yeah if you're shooting for a complete set, it's REALLY easy to forget what you already have, especially when it comes to all the common stuff.

I'd reccomend getting a cheap or used smartphone anyway. No need to get service on it, just basically use it as a PDA or something. Being able to keep a list of your games or something on it would be really handy.

Ok, so a thrift store I went to today has a CRT TV that has the ability to switch between PAL and NTSC modes, in addition to switching voltages. They've also got a PAL PS2. Those sound really interesting, but is there a good reason to pick them up (if they're still there)? Are there any games only Europe got that would justify those purchases?
