it's inspired by games like Dishonored and Bioshock,
...it's also funny to me that I just watched the SE of Aliens on New Year's Eve which is the version that features the mention of Amanda Ripley.Perhaps most importantly, our source says that Sega took the critical reception to Aliens: Colonial Marines very seriously, and that the publisher put together a postmortem following the near-unanimously negative reactions to their last Aliens game

Re: Alien: Isolation
I would like to see a big budget, competently-done Aliens game, but after being let down so hard on A:CM, I think it would take a lot to lure gamers back in for a second go-around. I certainly wouldn't be pre-ordering it and would definitely be waiting for the jury to be in on whether or not it was worth buying the damn thing (something I should have done with Colonial Marines). No, Sega, you're gonna have to put some effort into this one instead of the usual laziness with the Alien franchise.

you'll be in a tough spot. The people who will play it right away ("the jury") will be guys like me who liked Colonial Marines.Retrogamer0001 wrote: certainly wouldn't be pre-ordering it and would definitely be waiting for the jury to be in on whether or not it was worth buying the damn thing

Re: Alien: Isolation
I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't love it. My biggest gripe was the AI partner that could literally beat the entire game for you if you just hung back and allowed him to clear out every room. The graphics were also subpar considering they were supposedly one of the major selling points. Everything about the game was either "just ok" or below average.Luke wrote:Colonial Marines is a fine game.

Nah, I'm sure every gaming magazine and Youtube yuppie will be out with reviews of the thing within the first two days.noiseredux wrote:you'll be in a tough spot. Agreed. I had some fun, but a lot of frustration with the game due to bad scripting/coding/bugs. Sometimes they were funny, sometimes they were crippling.Retrogamer0001 wrote:I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't love it. "A fine game" seems like exceedingly high praise, which in my opinion the game doesn't deserve at all.

Re: Alien: Isolation
I can understand dudes who didn't enjoy CM being apprehensive. Though, we do already have a pretty long thread about CM and am hoping that this one will serve to discuss Isolation...
