Just enjoy your PS4/X-Box One.

I will enjoy my Wii U.

If I had a list of all the members who troll, dsheinem would be near the bottom of that list. Since when is posting legitimate links trolling? Besides he DOES post a link that tries to paint a more positive tone. Besides even being negative about Wii U sales is not trolling, it's saying what everybody knows.

I agree. Which is why I was surprised by the troll like behavior.

I think people who complain about the Wii U not being "powerful enough" should just build a gaming PC, Nintendo isnt into cutting edge realistic graphics, and the Wii U specs suit its game just fine.

Im getting a Wii U for Nintendo games, not multi-platform games that i can play on my PC or PS3/PS4.

Also i think people forget how gimmicky Nintendo has been since the Wii, if you want just a plain old console, Sony and Microsoft cater to you.

In terms of power... I couldn't care less really. Partially because I own a gaming PC. Also because, somehow, someway, with the "underpowered" hardware they have had, Nintendo seems to consistently pump out games that run at 60fps.

People on a retro gaming forum complaining about "underpowered" consoles seems ridiculous anyway.

so the "thoughts so far" thread is only open to positive thoughts?

I'm not trolling, just discussing the health and future prospects of the system, which we've been doing since before release. I've debated buying one a few times myself, but keep thinking "wait" to see if it gets clearanced out sooner than later or if enough non-Nintendo games come to it. I'm not alone in not wanting a console at $300+ that only plays Nintendo IPs.

You answered your own question I think.

Nintendo doesn't give a fart in high wind what the hardware is, as long as it compliments whatever first-party stuff they have in the pipeline. That first-party stuff is the stuff that the Microsoft's and the Sony's of the world only wish they had. The little sprinkle of magic that makes Nintendo games what they are. Until that magic wears itself out, Nintendo will be just fine no matter what its competitors are up to.

No one has been paying $300+ for months now. The deluxe bundle has been available in North America anywhere down to $240* at any given day since late October.

$250 or less for the deluxe with NSMBU or even Nintendoland is a steal for anyone even remotely interested in first-party games. I got my value back just out of Nintendoland and Lego City.

I agree that the post with the links was sort of trollish, mainly because most of them are click-bait articles or false journalism, and have made the rounds on several forums from people who are, for some reason, wishing the demise of a decent video game system.

*Even lower if you count the gift cards Walmart and Target were giving out at certain times. Even lower than that if you count the 10% price match guarantee Toys R Us did all holiday season!

I take it you're not a Neo Geo AES fan?

I think first-party Nintendo games are so strong that the Wii U would still be worth owning if that was what the entire library consisted of.

Plus, there are some great non-Nintendo games currently available and upcoming: Darksiders II, DuckTales Remastered, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Sonic: Lost World, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Bayonetta 2... I certainly don't see it as "just a Nintendo console."

Who has time for third party games when I am still working through the great first-party Wii games. I need to finish DKC Returns before February. Not sure it is going to happen.

Um? MSRP for the Deluxe bundle is $300 + tax:

most of them are click-bait articles or false journalism

Um, what? The sources were a Wii U fan site, a website that linked to another Nintendo fan site, USA Today, The Examiner, and a website that cited VG Chartz. If you want to call me a troll or take me to task for posting bad info, have some fucking evidence.

If anything, I think there's a lot more defensiveness and denial going on by some folks here than "trolling" by me.
