You might not know you know him, but I guarantee you know his work. He basically did a ton of some of the most iconic western game box arts of the 80s/90s, including the art for the Genesis Sonic games.
Here's a thread on NA about it with lots of his art:

Wow. Greg Martin illustrated some of my favorite cover art. It's a shame I never knew his name until he died.
Rest in peace Greg Martin. Much respect for the work you did.

Sadly another legend has passed on.

I loved his style because it was so easy to copy, and I'm an average artist at best.
His covers for non-licensed games weren't the best, but the man nailed the WB and Disney universes.

Wow that's some great art.
I always thought that Shining in the Darkness looked "Disney" - now it makes sense.
Rest in peace.

He really did some great NES and GB cover art. I only wish Capcom had let him do the early Mega Man art too. RIP Greg.

Wow, I would've never even guessed all those covers were by the same guy, many of them are even iconic to this day.
EDIT: Reading deeper into the thread (and past some sketches the majority of you should really check out) it looks like he was responsible for some Pirates of the Dark Water, and Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island promo-work as well. This guy was a much bigger part of my childhood than I'd ever realized.
RIP Mr. Martin

Always had an affinity for this type of art compared to most others.
On a side note, how does one go about finding the names of the artists that created some of the 16 bit cover art (or any game for that matter) ?
