Got the 360 demo just before I had to leave for the holiday. At my parents place now but will DL with I get back on Sunday.

Seemed to play very well in the demo. I used a controller with a modded d-pad and it seemed to feel pretty good. Even my normal controller didn't feel too bad. Wish i could play it right now .... :?

Things I like :

Remixed Music
Remixed gameplay
Online matching
Online gameplay so far
Some of the new character sprites and a few backgrounds.

Things I don't :

Graphics are too "clean" and way too anime.
Menu's and interface are really ugly and don't fit the game at all.
Ending for Ryu didn't rub me right. personal opinion. I used to love him walking into the sunset.

I bought it on wednesday right away - I personally like it a lot - it annoys me that the original graphics are only available filtered though.

Apart from that I adore it - the backgrounds are so intricate and (to me anyway) the frames/movement feel exactly the same in 'Arcade' mode as the old days.

Gradualmeltdown - are any of the endings animated or are they all stills with text?

And I know it's the wrong version of Street Fighter - but I was kinda hoping that ending with Ryu dragonpunching in the waterfall would be in this one :D

new endings are new stills with text. Slightly updated text and more stills. Ryu's cut the final looping sunset scene, where it says "the fight is everything" My favorite part of any video game. Other than that this game is really fun. Just alot of things I would personally have done differently.

I love it; makes me feel very refreshed! I haven't been serious about fighters for maybe 10 years, but this gets my juices flowing. And for some reason, I now don't mind the 4 new characters (ha ha, well new in Super). I hated Super SFII all these years because of those 4 useless additions but with everything looking and feeling new and exciting I don't mind them.

One tiny question; also mentioned in another thread. Why doesn't the announcer say "perfect" during single-player arcade matches? I can't seem to get any perfects and thus I can't seem to get the achievement. In local multiplayer, it works fine.

Edit: I have the 5 rounds perfect achievement now, but the announcer still never says "perfect" in single player.

It makes me sad that single player doesn't track your score. That's the only real fault I've had with it so far. Well, that and the fact that everyone online kicks my ass.

yeh I noticed that - the CPU kept on beating me perfect and it didnt say 'perfect' I thought it was just being polite, but obviously it doesnt say it if you beat the CPU perfect either - I would say that that should be fixed by download - surely its pretty important?

edit : all of the following and I'm digging this game anyway. the online isn't bad at all.

So my record is 68-42 right now in remixed mode. I sit around 8,000-9000 ranking in remixed weekly mode. Lets chat about that.

The overall ranking system is extremely flawed so its hard to really know where you stand overall. Weekly ranks seems to be accurate but the overall makes no sense. Several of my friends are 0-1 and 0-3 respectively. Each of them is ranked in the top 15,000 in remixed mode!!! Puzzle Fighter on Live had problems like this and they simply reset rankings almost a year into the game being up. Now it seems to be more accurate, but you'd think they would use a similar method with SF2 HD.

Sucks for average player like me, but they were above guys with records like 132-54. Thats a thug hard fought record to look at some guy who logged on once, lost and out ranked you.

The D-pad on the PS controller is awful for this game. I used to be able to execute any of the "Shen Long" fighters moves without problem, and while it's possible that I'm out of practice, I'm pretty convinced that the controller does not have ideal contacts for this game. And using the analogue stick as a joy stick in SFII is a myth, man!
