Folks over at NeoGAF have initiated a tweet campaign to convince Sega to port titles such as Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, Valkyria Chronicles, Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Resonance of Fate on Steam. Normally I wouldn't be so naive as to post just any port-begging campaign, but the requests seem perfectly reasonable and the campaign is taking off much more quickly than anticipated. Sega has shifted to become more PC-oriented in the past few years in a variety of ways, but it's time that they fully committed to it by bringing over the best of their recent output since there are customers like me who are begging to throw cash at them for this.

Made a tweet about it. Might not work, but I'd love I
If it did. Wouldn't mind seeing some Atlus properties make their way over as well.

Man, it's been forever since I last logged into Twitter but I did so I can contribute to the campaign.

Well, Sega already has some Dreamcast-era titles on Steam, so who knows... I guess it depends how those older titles are selling.

I think the biggest problem is that none of those titles sold well to begin with. Plus 2 of them are not even owned by Sega, but by Platinum games.

there were a fair share of Saturn and Dreamcast games ported to PC in their day. I don't see why Sega couldn't bring those over to Steam.

Easy to say SEGA has been doing something insanely wrong for the last couple of years. All these games are pretty damn amazing and should have sold way better. They have their followings, but yeah it's weird how they weren't huge sellers.ZeroAX wrote:I think the biggest problem is that none of those titles sold well to begin with. To be honest I'm not sure it's SEGA's fault. Console gamers are just not interested in new ideas anymore. They just like blockbuster franchises.Xeogred wrote:Easy to say SEGA has been doing something insanely wrong for the last couple of years. I still cry a bit inside when I think about Valkyria Chronicles not getting a sequel on the PS3 :'(

Some of those PS3 exclusives might have been built specifically to take advantage of the PS3's hardware. Porting those to PC might be difficult if so.

I think only Valkyria Chronicles is an exclusive. The others were all published on the 360 too.AppleQueso wrote:Some of those PS3 exclusives might have been built specifically to take advantage of the PS3's hardware. Porting those to PC might be difficult if so.
It's a shame too, Valkyria Chronicles would have worked great on PC with online play
