I'd hope nobody actually takes which states are/aren't considered "south" all that seriously.

The snow thing is legit though. Living in Texas I doubt it'll ever be any real concern, but still.

I should clarify that I don't drive with giant sheets of ice or snow on my car (for the reasons others have pointed out). Obviously one needs to dust off the lights and windows, too. Still, I guess a "law" about snow on the car irritates me because often snow is caked on to parts of the car with ice and can't be chipped off without spending an inordinate amount of time doing so (and risking damage to the car). Other times some powder on the hood or roof that flies off in the first minute of driving isn't presenting a hazard to anyone unless they are A) too close and B) have wipers that don't work. I assumed that laws about visibility already covered tickets for remaining snow that blocked safe lines of sight.

I guess I just associate snow on cars with part of what winter driving is all about. As long as you are already being a careful driver, I can't see someone else's snow falling off posing a giant problem.

lulz. However, unless there is a member from I-Falls, I think i'll be taking the top spot this week. High of -13 low of -38 tomorrow.

First time since 96' the governor closed down schools statewide (for this coming Monday). The great thing about this - when the governor closes school, the day doesn't have to be made up, and since we had already exhausted our 2 days - this is great!

:D It's 5 degrees right now, sun shining, very little wind. Just did a 60 minute snowshoe hike to our (frozen) pond and back. Kids wanted to do some snowshoe olympics afterward - had some races and then some deck and roof jumps (from dad only) as mom wouldn't let my 8yo up there. There's a good 4' of buildup, so quite cushiony and with it being so high, the low roof line to the snow is only about 10', but mom still said no. Great fun. Now inside warming up w/hot cocoa and Lego Marvel on Wii U (from the homey Omerta).

Oh, meant to share my breakfast a la Luke. Most of you are familiar w/egg in basket, so I took it a sweet step further and made it egg in a sweet basket.

Recipe:
Serves 6
12 pieces of Bread
Maple Syrup
Powdered Sugar
14 eggs
Pancake powder
Milk

In a bowl, mix:
1 cup milk
1 cup pancake powder
2 eggs
2 tbspn maple syrup
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Take 12 pieces of bread:
lay flat, take glass, open end down, and push down in the center of the bread, turn one full revolution and remove the cut out piece of bread.

Dip the remaining bread (the entire piece, minus the removed circle, dip in batter.

Place on griddle at 300 degrees

Crack egg, empty into the the hole in the bread. Add dash of salt to egg center, flip bread/egg after 30 seconds.

Let cook on other side 30 seconds. Place on plate and add maple syrup to taste.

*the removed bread circles can be dipped and placed on griddle as traditional french toast.

I work night shift, and I have to work Sunday night, 11pm-7am, we are supposed to get up to a foot of snow during my shift and a low of -15, and I don't know what the wind chill is going to be. Pretty sure I'm not going home when I get off. I work in a hotel though so apparently I get a free room if I get stuck here in the morning.

Well, for me, it's a matter of ethnographic anthropology. I imagine some people's life experiences just say one thing that doesn't line up with someone else's. The only thing that's actually wrong is when someone has a vested interest in the subject, an ax to grind evidence be damned. We haven't seen that so far in this thread, and I doubt we will.

Protip, make sure snow/ice is not on your washer fluid blasters (is there a real name?). I think on my old car they were just slightly under the hood at the bottom of the window or something, but on my Civic now they're farther out and actually on top of the hood inches away from the window. Apparently the driver side one was completely clogged up with snow and did nothing and yeah that sucked.

Frown: Something goofy is going on with my laptop. The internet is slooooooooow on it.

What's odd is that clearing the history seems to help, which doesn't make much sense (at least not to me). I've done the usual and beyond just for clean up's sake:

Clear cache and cookies
Clear history
Make sure browser is up to date
^Same with drivers
Unchecked programs run>msconfig> startup
Defragged

But at times, like right now, even facebook takes between twenty to thirty seconds to load.
