My question is simple
is there ANY advantage of buying games over VC than downloading them on your pc's emulator?
I think the vc's even has disadvantage of limited storage on the wii

My Wii is in my living room, infront of a nice sofa, on a 32" tv and has multiple wireless controllers.
My PC is in my bedroom, infront of an office chair, on a 17" screen and has wired, crappy logitech controllers

Re: VC vs ROM
Absolutely not. You can get a cheap modded Xbox and play most of what VC has to offer with adequate emulator accuracy. But VC is a clever way of making money, as is everything else about Nintendo nowadays.

^^^
Whatever - do you really think we would have Sin and Punishment 2 coming to the Wii if the original had not been available, and such a huge hit, through the VC service?

Re: VC vs ROM
Damn that's ignorant... It's almost impossible not to buy a video card w/o video out and USB adapters for real console controllers are common.bobbynewmarkiii wrote:My Wii is in my living room, infront of a nice sofa, on a 32" tv and has multiple wireless controllers.![]()

For at least 5 years now I have been playing all my emulated games on my TV in the living room with real controllers (SNES, PS2, GC, N64, Saturn, etc).
(FC, AVFC, NES, SFC x2, SNES, N64, GC x2, Wii x2)*(G&W x7, GB, GBpocket, GBASP, DS-L x2)
(GEN, SS x3, DC x3)*(PCE-Duo)*(Xbox:500GB)*(NGCDZ, NGPC)*(PS1, PStwo, PS3:160GB, PSP.3K)

Re: VC vs ROM
Also, I find the general attitude in this thread to legal ownership of this media rather inappropriate - you are aware that emulation of copyrighted games is illegal?
Re: VC vs ROM
God forbid we do something illegal. *gasp*

Re: VC vs ROM
On a PC the graphics are better, has much better resolution and has plugin support. Plus I don't have to worry about storage problems on a PC. And about illegally downloading them if you own the cart already why pay for it twice. Its much easier to play from a PC than the cart or VC. I also know my cart and rom will work 10 years from now but my download off the Wii probably won't. I like owning my games, not leasing them for a few years. Also my setup is wireless with PS2 controllers and my PC hooked up to my 42" 1080P LCD so I pity your 17" crappy logitech setup.
Re: VC vs ROM
why would not it work even 20 years from now? and I doubt that everybody that downloads rom, or even set of roms had bought the original cartridge beforecorn619 wrote:On a PC the graphics are better, has much better resolution and has plugin support.
