I got the gold bee in one of the first bushes I chopped in Lorule. Then found another one later.

You guys are luckier than me. I never got one to show up, so I just bought one in Lorule. I felt ripped off, but it's okay. It's pretty easy getting money in this game. That one room in the Ice Dungeon keeps respawning red rupees and occasionally gave me some purple ones

And the upgrades for pretty much everything but the bomb are pretty awesome.

So how do you buy them?

After reading this (and after completing the dungeon I was in the middle of), I went back to the Rabbit's house, and I try to click where the item was, and he says "You already rented that" or something close to that. I don't see a buy option.

maybe you have to give it back somehow? I know when you click on an item you don't currently have rented, he'll give you an option to rent or buy.

It opens up as you progress in the game. At one point he'll let you know that he now offers the ability to purchase the items, and the first item will be 50% off. Most of the items cost 800, but a few of the rods cost 1200, so you'd want to use the discount on one of them. I'd check back after each dungeon; I don't remember the exact point it unlocks.

I saw it once so far. And I accidentally killed it.

I just finished the Ice Dungeon in Lorule and it's the first dungeon I've completed so far that I can say I legitimately hated. The game's been all hits so far for me and this is its first miss. But maybe 10% of all ice levels in the history of video games actually didn't suck, so I guess it's to be expected.

Oh well, the Skull Forest dungeon was pretty cool. And I've got an upgraded Master Sword, so I'm pretty happy about that.

It didn't bother me so much. It was actually the first dungeon I beat in Lorule and it didn't give me much trouble. I thought some of the puzzles were pretty clever. Skull Forest has also been a favorite of mine so far.

In any case the more I play the more I've come to appreciate the new rental/buy system. I don't know if I want to see it in every Zelda game, but I'm really enjoying exploring the world at my leisure.

Seemed to me like he started selling items after I got to Lorule for the first time but I may be wrong.

I like that you get a ton of items right away, it goes a long way toward giving the game a different feel and setting it apart from Link to the Past.

Also, I really like that the soundtrack highlights the horn section (wow, you mean orchestras have horns and not just 80 gazillion violins/violas/cellos??), I was getting worn out on the overwrought strings-heavy arrangements. I know I'm probably alone on that one but oh well.

So where are the last 2 pieces of Master Ore? I can't find them. I found the first 2 in dungeons. I looked all over the Ore Mine, and I can't find any there, either.

Speaking of the Death Mountain (where the Ore Mine is), where is the missing guy that needs milk? I can't find him either.

Master Ore:
Palace of Darkness
Thief Dungeon
Skull Woods Dungeon
Cemetery Area

All are in Lorule.

As for the guy with the milk. He is outside of the ore mine in Hyrule. When you get to the platform with the two Lynels, instead of going to the right, go to the left.
