Metal Slug 7 DS

Post by otaku »

Anyone else pick this up yet? I'm impressed first of all even the cardboard sleeve is a nice touch. The little disc is cool to (if I could get it to work on my pc) and as for the game itself its pretty sweet the animation is good and the gameplay is solid. Seems a little easy though. Controls are a bit cramped and the screen is a bit small so I can't wait for a console version (with arcade stick and online play!)

I might get it for Christmas. I think I might play the previous Metal Slugs before I jump into this one, though.

I've played through the first level. It looks much better in motion than the crappy screenshots made it look.

Eh, 6 didn't impress me much. Honestly 4, 5, and 6 just did not live up to the awesomeness that was the first three and X. Sadly, it's making me hesitant to pick up 7 because I worry it will play more like the last three. Did SNK make this one, or did they give it to someone else to make?

I played one or two levels from the Japanese version sometime ago and I have to say I was impressed. Not my favourite Metal Slug, but definitely looked better than 4 or 5 (I liked 6). Gotta get the European version and play it through.

I prefer to play the original Metal Slugs via NeoDS thanks to its ability to crop the screen or scale it (I opt for the former since sprites would be too small otherwise).. and the slowdown is an added plus
