They really aren't all that big around here in Dallas.

Keep in mind that most commercially sold grits are nothing like what is served in a Southern restaurant.

Most of the grits I've had tasted like unflavored malt-omeal.

You're from the South and you've never eaten grits? That's downright un-
fathomably lucky
of you. Most grits taste just like Luke described.

First, Texas is NOT the South. Texas is practically a different country.

Second, if you guys had grown up eating the grits that my mother and grandmother made, you'd love them too.

Hey, I'm from MO and I get told I'm from the South all the time. It's my turn to use that on someone else.

MO is a weird one. You guys definitely have the influence, but I hesitate to say you're from the South.

To me, the South is Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, and West Virginia are related and associated, but not really Southern in my opinion. Too many Yankees.
