Want to ask everyone's thoughts on something

At some point, I am going to start an "Economics 101" or "Basic Principles of Supply and Demand" thread - complete with basic equations and graphs - so that we can simply link to it whenever people start complaining about the price of used video games.

Pretty sure Dave or I have already done just that.

As a refresher, here is all you need to know about Econ101:

These cyclical conversations about "why are older games going up in price?" drive me nuts. They always end up with someone claiming that "Sellers" are to blame, and that said sellers are "jerks" or worse. Plus, the discussions are pointless.

I said it already everyone is keeping their stuff for his or her own reasons and people aren't selling their stuff when they can make more money on ebay or craigslist.

You know there are dozens of video game marketplaces where people sell stuff for the same (net) money as ebay or craigslist, right? We actually have one here!
There are literally thousands of daily online trades and sales of videogames on forums alone - not counting the hundreds of online video game stores.

Ebay is huge, of course, but far more forum members use marketplace forums as opposed to ebay. It is cleaner, faster, friendlier, safer and you make the same (net) money.
