For those adding PSO to steam for chat (voice and text) you can get the overlay to work only if you run Steam as admin.

Wow 8 pages and in only 3 days.

Well to start if you have a modded or softmodded xbox you can apply a patch to the iso file so you can play offline phantasy star online. Which is the way im going to play. I just need to get my brother off the living room so i can plug the xbox.

had tons of fun playing w/ VBD and SB last night. I'm LVL 13 now, which I can't believe I managed to hit in just 2 days of playing!

In PSO level matters to a point, then it is ridiculous drop rates on gear... However if you just want to play through the episodes, and dont deem you need to tier gear, you wont have to worry about that.

I fired it up last night, created my Hunewearl, walked into the first room and was greeted with two GoBoomas... Realizing that my skills in PSO had diminished in the last few years, I decided to go for an tried and true cheesy soloing tactic. I created a Racast, sold all of his gear, bought a rifle, played shadowgames for all of forest 1-1 and 1-2, and got to level 5. Do that a couple times and you will have enough levels to solo the first boss. Granted as soon as I get Ack and a two other friends to install it I will swap to the Hunewearl. My Racast is damn lucky though. He is level 5 and has two Trigrinders already.

Is this a game I need to play in single player first, or can I just jump straight on to online stuff?

I was thinking of playing the PC version with you guys, but also picking up the Gamecube version so I actually own it. Would I be able to just do online content with you guys and do the single player stuff in the cube version instead?

I plan to go FoNewearl (the female Newman caster class) when I play btw. Thats what I went for the one time I briefly played it before, and I liked it well enough.

AJ, yeah you can totally just jump right into to online with us. In fact, it would be to your benefit. As long as you hit/shoot an enemy, you get EXP no matter who kills it. So, if you are LVL1 and you're playing with dudes at higher levels, you just want to make sure you shoot everything at least once and even if they do all the killing, they get 100%EXP and you get 80% for helping.
