well PSO parties can only be a max of four players anyway, so shouldn't that still be an easy (IE: we're all already all set) solution?fastbilly1 wrote:Steams chat has some issues with groups bigger than four,

Is there a way the Racketboy group on Steam could set up a chat then?fastbilly1 wrote:Steams chat has some issues with groups bigger than four, unless you have a group chat setup via the guild system.

So, is it possible to play on the Schthack servers with the Dreamcast at all?

yessir. Via dialup or BBA. There's a guide on their site. I played it on DC via dialup a couple of times myself.pierrot wrote:So, is it possible to play on the Schthack servers with the Dreamcast at all?

Yeah I'm on a yearly subscription with gameservers so it's available 24/7. The servers located in Chicago, Illinois.fastbilly1 wrote: Ventrillo is an older voice chat program, though personally I always used Team Speak instead. Fragems, is yours up 24/7? I was going to set one up if people requested it, but if you have one operational, there is no reason for double work.
Anyone who needs a place to hang out is free to join as well. It's usually just me and around 4 other dudes on there on a regular basis.

True, but under heavy load, steam chats can go crazy, I have had it limit conversations to one other person before, that and you are at the mercy of Steam. Granted I doubt we will have more than two groups going at any given time regardless.noiseredux wrote:well PSO parties can only be a max of four players anyway, so shouldn't that still be an easy (IE: we're all already all set) solution?fastbilly1 wrote:Steams chat has some issues with groups bigger than four,
That is a good question, I do not know who runs that group. But it would be easy enough to setup. However there are like 200 people in the steam group.Ack wrote:Is there a way the Racketboy group on Steam could set up a chat then?fastbilly1 wrote:Steams chat has some issues with groups bigger than four, unless you have a group chat setup via the guild system.

If I'm reading this correctly, it seems I don't need a boot disc for the servers with a BBA, I just change the DNS IP address to the Schthack server IP address in PSO, and go?

Re: Together Retro: Phantasy Star Online
well, I'd prefer stick w/ Steam Chat just cuz I already have it, always have Steam running when I'm online, and don't want to install another client if I really don't have to. But I find that I'm playing w/ enough people using another chat or that the Steam chat is really a problem then I'll prob see a reason to switch.
