Why no PSP Megaman 9 ???

Post by noiseredux »

Does anyone else think it's nuts that there's no Megaman 9 for PSP? I mean it's meant to look 8bit, so certainly it's not a "power" issue. I can understand them not wanting to produce a UMD of it, but wouldn't it be basically free for Sony to put a download on PSN? I just really don't get this decision at all.

In that case, why not DS?

Even PS2, since they're still making games for it like Lego Batman, etc.

It's a DL game. That's the way things are going.

Yes, I understand it's downloadable. But they could have easily made it a downloadable PSP game. Which they did not.

They did consider a NES release for collectors, but the game itself is too long to fit on a NES cart.

OK I see your point about DL to PSP. I misunderstood.

It wasn't really a game released on the NES. It was the media kit that looked like an old game.

I bet it will come to the PSP eventually. Sony will get Capcom to do it.

They did the media release with the nes cart

but i am pretty sure they considered a limited release working nes cartridge, but the cartridge was going to be far too expensive to produce (it would have been old technology and harder to make the parts)

Also im pretty sure they could have made it despite the length of the game simply because there are flashable nes carts and i've seen up to like 25 mb (doesnt sound like much but thats like 25x a normal nes cart)
Also if they can fit Final Fantasy 1 and 2 onto regularly available nes cartridges i'm sure they could have fit megaman 9 =D

i think capcom just figured it wouldn't be profitable enough for them

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.
