Where and What will you be doing this New Years Eve?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Narcotic cough syrup was just added to my day and those ahead. That should make things more entertaining or more sleep filled. Either way is a win.

Well, I WAS going to go to my friend's brother's place in San Diego to drink and play video games.

But that's not happening, because I got a text saying that there's no room for us to crash over there.

So my friend is going to a different place, one in which I won't be going to.

So I'm staying here at home and drinking. In my room. It's not the greatest option but it's the only one that appeals to me for NYE, since nobody else I know is doing anything else, so yeah.

6:30pm - Leaving to drive to a party, grumbling about the cold
7:00pm - Putting on a "happy to be here!" face and grabbing some questionable food
7:30pm - Begin nursing a cheap beer because it is my turn to drive tonight
8:00pm - Begin barking at the kid who is doing cranky/whiny things because he hasn't yet taken a nap today because he's been excited about New Year's.
8:30pm - Begin nursing second beer
9:00pm - Give the kid a timeout for spilling something and not being careful
9:30pm - Feign amusement at the stupid things increasingly drunk people are saying
10:00pm - Start suggesting that we should head home early as the kid has had enough
11:00pm - FML I am still here
11:30pm - Resign myself to being here, grab third beer and cold nachos.
12:00pm - No TV at this party, so some kind of countdown looking at cell phones while sloppy people kiss one another and I have to explain to the kid "this" is what we've waited all night for
12:30pm - Venture into the cold, and begin dodging the drunks on the way home while kid sleeps and wife makes stupid drunk person jokes
1:00pm - put everyone in bed, logon to the forums, and either A) soberly confirm all above happened while downing the first of many scotches or B) drunkenly post about how awesome the party I attended was and how wrong I was to be a giant curmudgeon while my "ok, I'll stay sober" wife grumbles in the background
2:00pm - pass out while doing something lame

Happy New Year, everyone!

I'm not sure yet, as my options aren't all that great. My friend invited me to one party, but if I do any drinking I'll have to stay the night, which wouldn't be that great. The other options are another party I know of, which will have fireworks and food and extremely weird people, or hang with my parents. Woo.

I don't think you should be driving after three beers.

See, you're already drunk, you can't even quote the right post.
