I think you guys have missed a few other 1980s classics...

Conan the Barbarian
John Carpenter's The Thing
48 Hours
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
Labyrinth
The Dark Crystal
Commando
Police Story
Raging Bull
Scarface
Spaceballs
Clue
Stripes
The only Indiana Jones movies that matter...

Good call on Conans (I like both), Spaceballs, and Indiana Jones.

I also forgot Evil Dead movies.

What about Rocky IV? It's got capitalism vs. communism, James Brown, and an 80's robot.

Iron Man: The Rise of Technovore

Pretty good little animated movie. Lots of action, great animation, and a good (albeit not great) comic book story. It's really the action sequences, more than anything that stands out here. And the artwork has just a bit of a Japanese Anime flavor to it, but completely has that smooth American animation with lots of movement unlike most Japanese anime. And the artwork is stunning for an animated movie.

I definitely recommend it to any fans of the comics or the movie even (although there isn't as much humor here as there is in the movies).

There is more of course, but I haven't got around to watching quite a lot of them.. Still, it was a better year of film for me than games and other entertainment formats.

Although it took me over two weeks, I finally finished reading the script to BRAVEHEART II, which will be released n late 2020/2020 Christmas (scheduled at least, shot locations start this coming February).

It works on paper, as the Scot who we first saw lose his wife seeks justice on Wallace's behalf. Lots of flashbacks, lots of vengeance, lots of ghost Mel Gibson, lots of love stories, lots of politics that actually make sense and pan out how England came to be with historical tact. Surprisingly it reminded me of The Shawshank Redemption in terms of stroy telling, character growth, and human violence.

This might be Mel's Swan song, and it may be his best. Ever.

It's a little early for April Fools isn't it?
