Super Street Fighter II HD Remix discussion

Post by jEckt »

I hope I'm not double posting

So far, in my very inexperience opinion, it seems to be a solid game ^^
Wondering how many people on retro have snatched this up (personally I did so on my PS3)

my only, personal, problem with this game is...
I'm a sucker for 2d fighters...
I bought 2d fighters at a moments notice (MvC2 dc and ps2, Guilty Gear psone, Mortal Kombat snes, Super Street Fighter 2 snes and many, many more), but I absolutely suck at 2d fighters (only can do the 'Haduken' 60% of the time).

What am I missing? any tips?

sorry for straying off topic.... but I wanted to create topic where people could share experience and make matches
i need money...

I'll have it in a few hours for 360.

The only thing I can tell you is your timing is off. Remix is supposed to be more lenient in this department(allowing you to pull off moves within a greater range of frames of animation). Also, Remix has an in-depth practice mode which allows you to turn on hitboxes to see your moves and their range. Practice up!

Yea my timing is horribly off...but I still love 2d fighters...
I prolly never won a fight (besides killer instincts) against any of my friends in 2d fighters...
I can play fps, strategy, powerstone and etc...
but it seems that 2d fighters (or any one on one fighters) I am very weak...

I don't want to become pro at it...but at least 'decent'
I just barely beat arcade mode on easy...
people might say just quite, but the soul still burns (misquote, but eh)
I, with my lack of skills in any fighters, still like 3rd strike the best
but this game is pretty sweet

any of ya'll get this game please do hit me up on my PSN: deject (just be nice...I am a newb after all)

Heh, I'm gone 'til the weekend too. Managed to try it out this morning, though...it is THE DEFINITIVE STREET FIGHTER EXPERIENCE.

ITs rad, i love the new sprites and theres an option to use the original sprites for you retro freaks. i personally didnt care for the new remixed sound track, but you can change it to the original music like i did. the online fights are really fun, like the arcade experiance if you have a headset, trash talking fun. i tried at least 12 online matches only won 3 haha, really good fighters out there, i also ran into some pretty cheap ones, some guy used this stupid blanka cheat where he constant sweeps me and shocks me everytime i get up, needless to say i was pissed.

but, its a solid game

I cannot wait until I'm back home to pick this up on my PS3. I'm going to see if I can convince my brother to pick this up on his so we can get in a few rounds before I'm back in Seattle.

I read somewhere that game sharing is possible (and apparently permitted...unless Sony's Jack Trentton was misqouted http://www.wired.com/gaming/gamingrevie ... 6/10/71982).

There are games and dlc that can't be shared (Warhawk, Kratos LBP and etc); however for the most part I heard of people sharing games on the PSN.

I have yet to see if SSFT HD Remix have been confirmed as being shareable (that online play might limit sharing)...

All in all... I don't know the specifics, but might be possible for you and your bro to split the cost

My left thumb is in so much pain (that feeling just before getting a blister) ^^

I actually liked the OC remix; definitely new but keeps the retro flavor (I was afraid they were gonna go overboard and do some weird techno remix). I really hoped they got the proper licensing (if necessary) and add the music like they did for this trailer

Ended up getting it using my PSN account, played it some last night. Really nice looking sprites, and the gameplay is really solid. The online code is great too; I've never felt like I was getting attacked by lag. Me and another guy were basically trading wins back and forth against each other in a friendly match.

I did notice something that I'd never seen in the original SF2T. A couple of times I've had two characters crouching next to each other using their roundhouse kick, and the hit boxes for the kick ended up being behind both characters. It was kinda amusing to watch.
