Re: Which inputs does each console use?
dunpeal, I have a 4GB slim 360 that I've been using via the VGA cable. So I don't *think* that capability was removed? (I'm not sure if there's newer revisions of the hardware?)

The famicom titler outputs in s-video, but I probably wouldn't use that to say that the famicom or NES outputs s-video in general.TheSonicRetard wrote:The amstrad Mega-PC absolutely outputs in VGA, which is exactly what I stated.
It's more of a curious footnote than anything.
Re: Which inputs does each console use?
Why wouldn't you note that a specific model outputs in s-video? I said "certain models of output in VGA, like the amstrad mega-PC"AppleQueso wrote:The famicom titler outputs in s-video, but I probably wouldn't use that to say that the famicom or NES outputs s-video in general.TheSonicRetard wrote:The amstrad Mega-PC absolutely outputs in VGA, which is exactly what I stated.

that is correct
edit: the teradrive also outputs in vga

I uh... said as much kinda? I mean it's interesting to note, sure, but I don't think it really helps if you're just trying to find out what the average console is capable of.TheSonicRetard wrote:Why wouldn't you note that a specific model outputs in s-video? The Amstrad Mega-PC isn't a "model of the Sega Genesis", it's an Amstrad Mega-PC. ApolloBoy probably just read you literally, which would make you wrong on a technicality. But it's no big deal. We're all on the same page now.TheSonicRetard wrote:The amstrad Mega-PC absolutely outputs in VGA, which is exactly what I stated.

Question about the DC then:
Before I used composite (later, S-Video) I bought a RF adapter for it. It didn't need to be modulated, it just plugged in the back of the DC. Sega made an official adapter.
Would you define modulated as anything that needed an adapter, then?

Re: Which inputs does each console use?
DC doesn't have RF signals at the AV socket. An adapter is generating them in some way.
We could go all day about that. PSX DVR lacks RGB, or no RF on the Japanese Mega Drive...AppleQueso wrote:The famicom titler outputs in s-video, but I probably wouldn't use that to say that the famicom or NES outputs s-video in general.

Lum fan.
Re: Which inputs does each console use?
The Mega-PC and Teradrive also use a dual-sync monitor since the MD side on both doesn't output 31 KHz VGA. If you used the MD side with a normal PC monitor through VGA, it wouldn't work.o.pwuaioc wrote:The Amstrad Mega-PC isn't a "model of the Sega Genesis", it's an Amstrad Mega-PC.
