Color-Coded Collection (Graph)

Post by o.pwuaioc »

I should probably buckle down and get work done, but in the mean time, enjoy the fruits of my procrastination.

Anyone else feel like taking the time and effort to do this?

Pretty interesting. How did you do this?

Reminds me that I still need a ColecoVision...

I don't have a Colecovision either! The games are for when I finally do, which hopefully will be 2014. I don't have a TurboGrafx either, but I do own Mysterious Song.

If there is some easy way of doing this, I don't know of it. I just did it manually in Microsoft Excel. They have an option to color-code under "Styles" on the Home tab.

I thought this was going to be about organization, because I totally organize my collection by color first. I go console maker -> system -> Color -> Alphabetical. Like all my black-grid sega genesis games are together, separate from all my red box sega genesis games.

Neat graph, though.

I also thought this,
... and like you, I like to display my Sega Collection by color as well, but not alphabetical. Outside of color, I tend to group games that I think look good together (partially by genre).
...just another lost soul...

I thought this too, but that chart is pretty interesting.

I've got a suspicion that most people's collections would end up with a similar graph.

Cool chart. I shoudl probably do something like that with my collection at some point.

I think that they are relatively rare. I find Colecovision games all the time, but I have never found a system. Moreover, the Charlotte area Craigslist is devoid of listings for them.
