It simply burns you out after a while because many of the jokes are very similar. But I liked it enough to watch it whole and, well, check out the ending now.
I also appreciate the art direction a lot.

Just started that one and man, it might be too mellow even for me.
ZenErik wrote:Yea. If you want relaxed and mostly peaceful and calming I'd vote Aria. Hidamari is pretty decent for that too.
Thank you so much. Those are exactly along the lines of what I was looking for
Black Lagoon... just.... i loved every second of this... this maybe the first anime that make want to read the manga. It has a great balance in action and history of each character... don't know what to write about it my mind has so many things going right now
Maybe i need to watch something more light hearted to ease my mind... like slayers.

I'm watching Kill la Kill and so far I think it's amazing even if it's a shame they couldn't keep up with the amazing animation of the first two episodes because it blew my mind.

Yeah, those first two episodes looked incredible. It's a shame how many action shows there are that don't realize how important the animation is when you aren't a comedy.

Budget has a lot to do with that. Traditionally animation made for television just doesn't get the funding necessary to create really good, consistent motion (unfortunately).
Just watched Trigun: Badlands Rumble on Toonami! Was pretty good. I wish they had done some more background info in Trigun and talked about the plants/vash's past a little more.

It's more than funding, you can tell the best animators were working on those two episodes and that their scenes were longer and with a less normal storyboard. Basically they worked harder, longer for those episodes.
It's still great, mind you, I just watched episode 6 (IIRC) and there are only one or two scenes of typical anime quality, everything else is great.

I agree that they must have spent more time on those episodes, but time = money. All I'm saying is that the precedent of animation set in the first episodes couldn't be realistically followed up given the time and budget constraints the show (and just about any show) faces.
