GameStop has the original 32GB Deluxe set for $250, but none of the BestBuys around me have that one, so...
I called Best Buy got them to match the $250 price with GameStop for the Mario/Luigi bundle.
I paid via phone and was assured that when I get to the store I will get my free game (ZombieU) and both the $25 and $15 Gift Card.
I will be heading out to the store soon to make sure that I get all the bonuses, so I will let you guys know.

Mannnnnnnnnn, you guys speaking on the US prices reminds me of utterly screwed we Europeans get. The cheaper Wii-U bundle prices here, online and real-tail, average out to around $380-400 on the conversion. Ninty got a money-spinner region-locking that thing.
Oh, and welcome to the Wii-U club SpaceBooger.

Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
A couple of questions about the WiiU:
1. Is the charger for the game pad a "smart charger" and should I place it on the charging stand every night?
2. Is there any way to turn off the game pad's screen when playing a game like Mario Bros in an attempt to save it's battery life?

1. Yup. Leave mine on 80% of the time I play the thing.SpaceBooger wrote:A couple of questions about the WiiU:

2. Yes if you play with a different controller. If you're playing with the gamepad you can't have the screen off.

Man, I will never buy another console at launch again. That flipping Wii-U sat on my shelf for almost a year unused a month after I bought it. I should have waited until this holiday season. The discounts I'm seeing this year are crazy.

Thanks

Exactly what I am saying about PS4/XboxOne , there will be no games probably for a year. Next year console prices might be lower, hardware issues ironed out, and a good game's librarycorn619 wrote:Man, I will never buy another console at launch again. 1. Yup, I mean playing the WiiU as a whole. Usually end up using the Pro Controller unless the gamepad is required.SpaceBooger wrote:

2. When you're not using the gamepad, press the home button > controller settings > there should be a button "Display Off" on the left side.

Pretty hooked on Deus Ex at this point. Damn I'm still so impressed with how much I'm loving the gamepad now... for like every genre ever. Definitely works and I'm using it for Super Metroid now too.

I got Deus Ex for Wii U for xmas and that game feels completely made for the gamepad. It's sooo good. Looks great. Plays great. Easily the best version of the game.Xeogred wrote:Pretty hooked on Deus Ex at this point. Damn I'm still so impressed with how much I'm loving the gamepad now... for like every genre ever.
