Best Squaresoft games that aren't Final Fantasy

You know, as soon as I admonish one, you'd think I'd be more careful. I was thinking about the fact that Breath of Fire I was published by Square in the US. So, what do I do? I click on my RFGen account, sort by publisher, see Breath of Fire, and entirely forget what I was doing.

I would also state that, since this is a site dedicated to retro gaming, I am a bit disappointed that no one has mentioned Rad Racer, 3D World Runner, or King's Knight.

I thought about King's Knight and Rad Racer, but honestly, they just aren't as high as some of their finer RPGs. King's Knight is great fun, but it's not nearly as good as e.g. Secret of Mana.

Actually I originally purchased Breath of Fire way back in the day because I thought it was a "Squaresoft game."

I'm eagerly anticipating mention of Rad Racer and Racing Lagoon.

Are we just trying list games developed by square or also published.

I don't think it matters if they were developed by second or third party developers and published by Square. My main concern is that we're not conflating the discussion to games that were only published in certain secondary and tertiary regions by Square. (ie BoF, Persona 4, etc.)

I really enjoyed Front Mission 3 when I was a kid. Have never played any other games in the series.

Unfortunately only a tiny amount of the series is available in the west, and one of those games is the pretty awful Front Mission Evolved.

Though thanks to translation projects every game is playable in English now, especially the phenomenal Front Mission 5.

Historically I'd say Parasite Eve 1&2, followed distantly by Tactics Ogre.

Recently, I'd say the new Tomb Raider.

Never played a Front Mission yet, despite owning many of them. Just one of those titles I look at and say "Maybe next time" constantly to.
