360 or old xbox

Thinking of getting an xbox or 360. Is it easy mod/homebrew old xbox without modchip? Do you like to store games on hard drive or disc form? If I buy 360 it be possibly either be working/ broken/ red ring.

I've not done the oXbox softmod yet, but I understand it's just a certain game (MechAssault or Splinter Cell?) and a Gameshark.

hi benderx , ive been recently researching second hand 360's to buy and ive been told some RROD that have been reballed are done poorly unless you can find someone who is good at doing it.

i would check this seller below and ask him for a 360 that hasnt been reballed and had a disc stuck in the drive or a dead laser as a cause of being refurbished and buy from him.

the price is usually $105 US but has inflated recently i believe due to xmas bs.........


also go for a Jasper motherboard , they are manufactured so they run cooler than previous models , and buy a Talismoon Fan.......

the default stock fan runs at 5V the Talismoon runs at 12V , i have this installed in my current 360 and it hammers.

and for running games i use a xk3y i dont even have my 360 DVD Drive in my console the xk3y runs the show.

simply after its all setup i connect a USB Hard Drive to the xk3y with ISOS on it and play like that.
