Re: The Christmas Thread
Well worked midnight-8am on the 24th, 25th, and 26th so it's definitely... a challenge (I work police dispatch at 911), but Christmas was good.
Mom's side of the family is Christmas Eve, Dad's is Christmas Day... Dad's side stopped exchanging gifts long ago, so I got all my gifts today. Bunch of shaving-related stuff (I had asked for a double-edged safety razor and stand for that and the brush, also got a bunch of aftershave and shaving creams from some aunts and uncles) and my brother ordered me... something off Timewalk Games. Not sure which, I said "get me anything, literally, but especially any Castlevania" and my placeholder present because it hasn't shipped yet was just a printout of the N64 Castlevania cart... because I assume that's what they found in a quick google of Castlevania.
And like a week ago my parents cut me a big check to cover the recarpeting of my upstairs because since mom got sick they've become very giving under the "We'd rather see you enjoy our money when we're alive than leave it to you when we're gone" theory, but they didn't want to raise any eyebrows at Christmas itself -- my brother's very well off, but still, decorum and all that.

Re: The Christmas Thread
Didn't get much - didn't ask for anything. Asked people to buy for my daughter instead. She got all sorts of cool stuff.
Re: The Christmas Thread
I got...a surprising assortment this year. I honestly wasn't expecting it.
Pikman 3
Mario 3D World + guide (This was a surprise. I think I only got it because I mentioned a few weeks ago that it was coming out soon.)
Paper Mario Sticker Star
Pokemon Y (I got X for my birthday. This is the first time I've had both games of the same generation so early in the cycle.)
Dissidia 012
Ni No Kuni
Dragon's Crown
PSN card
Also got 2 Criterion movies (I love Criterion movies): The Lady Vanishes and On The Waterfront. And Parts 1+2 of The Rose of Versailles.
And of course, I'm leaving tomorrow to visit family, so I'm not going to be able to dig into even half of it before then
Oh well. At least I have something to look forward to when I get home.

Re: The Christmas Thread
I got some cool posters/wall hangings. Wifes parents got me a couple of framed fantasy art pieces, $60 for flea market game hunting, and some homemade chex mix.
My wife got me a Game of Thrones shirt, an older authentic German stein, and 2 cool 8 bit typr printed posters or Kill Bill and the Road Warrior.
I havent been to my sisters yet for dinner as my mom and her probably got me a few nice clothing items.

I received 105$, Trigun+Badlands Rumble, Full Metal Alchemist Vol 1 (Ep 1-33), Samurai Jack Comic (very good imo!) and a 46" flat screen in my room since my parents upgraded the living room TV.

Re: The Christmas Thread
I posted my video game gifts in the "Look What I Found!" thread...Rather than re-post, I will simply add that I am very pleased with my new games.
Also, my children received a mountain of presents; we had some delicious lobster newburg and mince pie earlier today; I now own a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon; I have no plans to return to the office until at least January 2; my dinner tonight will consist almost entirely of sugar cookies and egg nog; and I am very, very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.
I also beat Dragon Warrior this morning.
It has been a great holiday.

Re: The Christmas Thread
I bought myself a PS4 and Zelda 3DS XL, even though I already have a Pikachu 3DS XL. It was cheap at Target ($149) so I swooped on it. My family doesn't really do gift exchanges anymore. We just buy gifts for the children in the family. Still, I came away with a 25 dollar iTunes card and a new laptop from my fiancé. I told her not to get me anything despite spoiling her this xmas, so it was a nice surprise.
