I kinda thought that'd be the answer. Mine's JP too, but I had a region switch put in... of course just after I got it back, I started renovating my game room (and have been lazy about finishing that renovation) so it's been packed away and I have barely touched it since then.
I saw that. Matching serials / full kit...but still.
Only thing I can think is the number of legit carts, particularly number of legit complete kits is just much less than I think people originally thought.
My own experience is that i've owned 3 copies and all were boots - i've still never touched a legit cart.
Hello everyone, I posted to the technical forum a few months back about my Neo Geo problem. I picked up a UNI BIOS modded AES from Neotropolis(first mistake, I trusted their 100% eBay feedback but I should have listened to all the anecdotal evidence about them out there) and it came with a Famicom HVC-002 power supply. After consulting the internet I found that it would not be wise to run the AES with this, despite Neotropolis assuring me it would cause no problems. I would like to take every precaution in ensuring the system does not get damaged so I have been on the search for an OEM SNK power supply and a power transformer so the 120v/100v power difference will not harm the machine. As far as I'm aware it's a Japanese model(no FCC sticker) and takes a PRO-POW3 AC adapter(serial number is over 200,000). I have not had very good luck with locating one, I have been meaning to send a message to a Japanese eBay seller and see if they could possibly help me. I came across the "Retro Game Cave" site and it appears that they sell AES power supply units. Anyone know if they are reliable, or maybe where I could track down an SNK brand Japanese PRO-POW3? I'd be really grateful if anyone can help me, I've got plenty of other systems to enjoy but I'd really like to start playing my Neo Geo
I have one of Retro Game Cave's 3-in-1 Genesis/SegaCD/32x power supplies... it works well enough for me, but I'll admit that I don't exactly stress it with long play sessions these days, nor am I testing it with a volt meter.

Worries me? Nothing. As I said, it works well for my purposes. Only thing that you might say "worries me" is I know sometimes problems will only turn up after extended play sessions, etc etc, and I haven't really stressed it. But no, overall I think it's a great bit of kit and am very happy to have gotten it.
I also have a 3-in-1 made by The.Golden.Ax from AtariAge... which is also very nice, if a bit less professional looking. I've been on a kick to get rid of wall warts wherever possible, so far I found Ax making them (Genesis and he did an Atari Jaguar/JagCD one) and RetroGameCave.
