Yeah Ys... Amazing game. Amazing soundtrack. Been thinking about doing another playthrough myself.
I finished Metal Slug XX on PSP last night. This is something of an enhanced port of part 7 - though it feels much easier than that game. I think run n guns might just work better on the PSP than the DS due to a larger and clearer screen and slightly better control layout.

Re: Games Beaten 2013
I checked out holongtobeat.com out of curiosity, and they're not that bad considering the library they're tackling.
Of course some game times are going to be way off, but a pretty good site for a ballpark reference. Worth taking a look at before going on a gaming conquest.

Yeah, they're not bad.BoneSnapDeez wrote:yeah I check that site before I fire up any RPG.
A lot of times are off, because of all kinds of variables, but for ballpark figures I like 'em.
But...2.5 hours for Ninja Gaiden, 2 hours for Sonic the Hedgehog, over 6 hours for THPS? A bit of an exaggeration, but then again these are games I've been playing each year since release.

remember, it's all based on users feedback though. So that 2.5 for Ninja Gaiden is the average time it's taken for HLTB users to beat the game.Luke wrote: But...2.5 hours for Ninja Gaiden, 2 hours for Sonic the Hedgehog, over 6 hours for THPS? Also depends on which page you look at. They have more detailed breakdowns on the actual page for each game, with highest/lowest reported times, speedrun times, and that kind of thing.noiseredux wrote:remember, it's all based on users feedback though. That's not ridiculous if you are trying to do lots of exploration and gathering of coins and 1upsLuke wrote:2 hours for Sonic the Hedgehog

Re: Games Beaten 2013
I actually think it took me right around 2 hrs when I beat it earlier this year.dsheinem wrote:That's not ridiculous if you are trying to do lots of exploration and gathering of coins and 1upsLuke wrote:2 hours for Sonic the Hedgehog
Re: Games Beaten 2013
I've beaten the game several times this year (all chaos emeralds of course) but have never kept time. I'm guesstimating it takes me an hour to complete the game, but I'll always take an excuse to replay it.dsheinem wrote:That's not ridiculous if you are trying to do lots of exploration and gathering of coins and 1upsLuke wrote:2 hours for Sonic the Hedgehog

Re: Games Beaten 2013
Keep in mind these are average times for average players. Not elite players who can take down games like Bayou Billy.
For instance, the Lemmings estimate is 25 hours! This feedback is likely based on the fact that first-time (or even second or third-time) players will have to restart levels multiple times before progressing. A really good Lemmings player can probably finish the game in 8 hours, but that's certainly not the norm. I've likely sank about 18 hours into the game this month and I have plenty left.
Same goes for Ninja Gaiden. The average player will not come close to finishing it without dying. A lot. I have never beat the games, but I've probably had a few close attempts that lasted about 2-2.5 hours.
