Playstation Mobile

Post by Valkyrie-Favor »

Has anyone been playing games on the PlayStation Mobile platform?

It's a runtime for PS Vita and certain Android phones. There are about 100 games released for it so far. Looks like there are shooters, driving games, music games, RPGs, and even dating games represented!

I've never heard anyone mention this platform, but anyone with a Vita or supported phone should download the free games Rymdkapsel - a minimalist RTS - and Cytus Lambda, a really well-designed rhythm game full of J-pop.

I'd like to hear about everyone's experience with PS Mobile games here, since they never get much attention.

I have the platform on the Vita. Would have loved it on my phone but it isn't supported and I don't want to root the thing either.

I have Rymdkapsel and Mononoke Slashdown. Rymdkapsel is a great game and I like the art style. Mononoke is... well... not a game I like. I was expecting a fluid hack and slash but I don't think it's quite there. I got these two through the promotion that Sony is running now with certain games being free for a given time.

I finished the first boss in Mononoke Slashdown. It's a decent game, not quite up to the standards I'd expect for your average Xbox Live Arcade type game, but as a free download it's a decent little hack n slasher. The fun factor seems directly proportional to how upgraded your character is

If it ever comes to Android phones other than HTC (fuck 'em), I'd give it a try.

Gun Commando is pretty freaking awesome. It's kind of like playing Duke Nukem. The controls are perfect. It's a dual analog setup, but you can also slide your finger across the screen to aim, then tap the screen to fire. Gives you some of that precision shooting that you get with PC games

I'll give it a shot again then. I was expecting Muramasa level of action and overall feel because I just finished playing one of the stories.

I found another truly unique game on PlayStation Mobile. It's called Pinky Spots Leg Massage and it's two bucks. It's an interactive leg rubbing game with voice acting and several different costumes.

Watched the video and the BGM is awesome.
