When you think about it, how can any boss be the most powerful character? You beat the boss (in most games) so then by default, wouldnt the player controlled character be more powerful?

Either way, my vote goes to Pyramid Head. He can teleport, He can scare the hell outta ya, He can split into multiple copies of himself, and he really cant die, because even if you kill him, he just re manifests later.

Beating a boss and killing a boss are two different things - Bowser gets his ass whupped constantly but he always, always comes back for more...kinda like Jason Vorhees or Freddy Kruegar.

True but the line has to be drawn somewhere on what constitutes coming back because you are powerful, and coming back because the hero didn't kill you. I always thought of the bowser thing as mercy on marios part.

Jason is pretty powerful because not only does he kill you, but you and all of your friends are dead.

You've never been married you?

I'm joking, but matriarchs like Mother Brain always seem to return stronger.

Giygas. Only character I can think of off the top of my head where the game had to break the 4th wall to defeat him.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
