Why is everyone hyped up about that Bravely Default game? Is the story supposed to be really good or something? Is has that atrocious FF 3 DS art style going on... That's an immediate turn-off...

for me it's simple. It was made by the developers of 3D Dot Game Heroes -- one of my absolute fav games of this past generation.

Probably because people feel like it's much closer to their older style than it is FFXIII. I think the last Square game I thoroughly enjoyed was FFIX. I finished FFX and FFXII. Didn't finish FFXIII or XIII-2. Didn't finish TWewY. Not a big KH fan. etc.

Maybe just nostalgia. I don't hate FFXIII (besides Hope). Just don't prefer it. And since getting into SMT and various spinoffs of that, I find it hard to play any FF games.

Still, may try Lightning Returns. Guess I'm getting off topic here. Bravely Default doesn't interest me very much.

Did not know that. I thought it was just by some random jrpg studio.

Those people should try A Realm Reborn.

Didn't know that either. I thought From Software made that game, but I guess they just published it?

Still debating whether to try ARR. Maybe I'll get it during a Christmas sale.

Bravely Default is one of those games I may end up getting but am currently not hyped for. I just can't get too excited for Square releases these days. Though the fact that is isn't fully developed by Square Enix is promising..

Well jeesh that makes all the difference in the world, I didn't know that either. Makes me go from disinterested, to I'll read a couple of reviews.

Bravely Default looks a lot like 4 Heroes of Light. For me that makes it a must-buy.

it's the "spiritual sequel" to 4 Heroes. So yeah, it has that going for it too.

I've heard it described as a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy V, so that's enough reason for me to want to take a closer look at it.
