Didn't even realize that was out!

It's the first Madou Monogatari game to be released in the US, very excited to try it out.

I had no idea it was part of a series!

Since its my first game in the genre, I'm not really one to judge, but I am loving the game so far. Even though the story and characters are way over the top, there are some hilarious moments. It seems like a great "first roguelike" too, as the game takes the time to explain how a roguelike works, but breaks it up into bite-size chunks as to not overwhelm you. People already familiar with the genre might find it a bit too easy though, as least at first.

I also want some curry.

That's a funny coincidence. My girlfriend and I also beat Act III last night. We died a few times fighting Azmodan, probably due to the fact that we're playing on Nightmare, and are both playing Wizards, which don't exactly hold up well against huge bursts of damage

Didn't even realize Sorcery Saga was out! I'll have to pick it up sooner than later. Hopefully during a digital sale.

On a somewhat related point, how is Untold Legends: Dark Kingdoms (PS3)? I picked up a copy from Gamestop the other day for $2.5, and it looks a lot like the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games. My wife really enjoyed both of those, and I would like to play through something similar with her again soon. Is Untold Legends: Dark Kingdoms similar to those games? Will she enjoy it if she does not have much gaming experience? (Would we be better off starting the Champions of Norrath games on the PS2 or picking up a copy of Diablo III (PS3)?)

I have anecdotal evidence that it's not great. I have a couple of friends that bought it relatively quickly after getting a PS3 because they liked the DA games and they were severely disappointed.

Having never actually played UL:DK, I can't offer a very solid recommendation one way or the other. However, after watching this IGN Review, it would seem that while it scratches that archetypal hack-n-slash itch, it has some glaring technical flaws and overly repetitious combat that make it a little unwieldy.

I can speak for Champions of Norrath and Diablo III though, and both are great coop RPG's that aren't hard to just pick up and play.

Well, I recently got another order in the mail and a game I was not expecting was thrown in for free :D . Awfully nice of them.

I got Final Fantasy X International (japanese version obviously), and Tales of Destiny 2(Japanese version also that is a true sequel to the real Tales of Destiny that never released here. There is a english patch being worked on for it but I'll beat the ToD Directors Cut PS2 remake and ToD2 before the patch gets finished. Great to know its being worked on though.

Anyway, my surprise game was the Japanese version of Valkyrie Profile. I have the guide for the PSP VP Lenneth so as I am learning japanese words/can read kana I am having 0 problems w/ the import version. Plus the import version isnt worth or cost $60-$75+ like the US version so thats a huge plus also.

Anyway, I am currently enjoying Valkyrie Profile quite a bit. I never got/played the US PSX version...owned the PSP version for a short time but never put any time/effort into it...but this time I am for sure.

I am currently at the end of chapter 1. I have transferred 1 "einherjar" or whateverthefuck they are called and got bitchslapped by odin as I kept some artifacts but damn it he cant have everything!!! :P Anywho, I am really enjoying the game as this is the first time I have taken the time to understand it as well as the gameplay system as a whole. I am finding it very enjoyable, the battle system is really fun. Its also pretty deep w/ how you have to not only personally manage each character down to their personality traits, but also the fact you have to keep loosing people you've worked into your party, leveled up, and gotten a feel for, just to obtain some new person to do it all again with. That is my only slight dislike or issue w/ the game itself. Other than that I think its a great title.

As VP only has 8 Chapters it sounds short but i've found that there's so much to do in each chapter its FAR from short. Especially if you are like me and want to obtain the A ending(I am playing on NORMAL mode) and I am 100% clearing the dungeons as far as getting all the items, and taking out every enemy before taking on the boss.

Alright, thats all I got to say. Have a good one everyone and happy gaming

Keep us updated on Valkyrie Profile. It's one of my favorite games of all.

I played the English version and liked it a whole lot. Lenneth's voice actor was very cool, and the translated script was great. If I become proficient in Japanese I will probably play the original version too.

I like hearing English voices more than Japanese when the game takes place in a Western setting, although it would have been really impressive if someone made a Finnish dub or something. I can just imagine the Japanese voice actors trying to say "Arngrim" and "einjerjar." Weren't the names a little strange too? Hrist was called "Huly," which doesn't sound Nordic at all.

Can't complain about losing characters though, I knew I was in for it from the beginning and there's a bit of strategy in choosing who to send and who to raise. If you aren't careful you'll end up with two magicians, or three light warriors and no damage dealer. Beyond that, getting a new character strong enough to be useful takes some planning.

You need to play "Hard" mode though. It's actually easier than Normal, but it's the only way to play the awesome puzzle dungeons.s
