RCA Projection Screen TV - Blurry S-Video

Post by ReddMcKnight »

Hey all. I recently acquired a (rather huge) Projection Screen TV, made by RCA. It appears to work fine in all aspects, except for S-Video. I have tried all of the different S-Video Ports, but I always seem to get a blurry picture when using it, which is bad enough to stop me from using them. That being said, does anyone have a method of fixing this problem?

NOTE: I checked Google, found nothing, so PLEASE do not direct me to it. It's useless.

This is a long shot, but use "Not Google" to find out how you access the TV's service menu. It's usually something like unplug the TV, hold two certain keys in, plug the TV back in and turn the TV on.

Anyway, once in there you may be able to calibrate the picture. Usually there is a ton of stuff you can tweak in the service menu.

Model Number?
I'm guessing from the description it is a Rear Projection and not front? Never cared for the dimness especially when viewed from the sides and the eventual required replacement lamps are pricey. But free is always good and projection TVs display better in a darkened room. Strange that only SVideo has issues, does it have Component input? Maybe for the systems that at least have component such as the PS2 or DVD player go that route?

The model number is D52W20.

I was able to access the Service Menu, but I don't exactly know what to adjust, as there are lots of options, and I'm afraid I might screw something up. Any suggestions?
