Nice NES grab Michi
I am glad you thought about using the broken DS as a GBA J_Wil. Most people view it as trash, but they can live on as a decent big GBA.

I've been had like that before it's sketchy as hell when stores bag or reseal stuff. Personally I open anything I get from a second hand store anymore

J_Wil wrote:Or a really fancy paperweight...I spoke too soon. It doesn't read carts either. At least it will be a nice training project. I've never worked on a DS before so here a chance to get familiar with it.Hobie-wan wrote:FTFYJ_Wil wrote:The top screen is cracked. Otherwise, it works and will clean up fine and be a nice $13 GBA player with a bright screen and a folding screen protector.
Scrub the heck out of those leads on your cart and try to clean the head on the DS. Slots rarely just die, I bet with some elbow grease you may get it to work. Also, check your cart on another system.

Long live the SCD.

Been a few weeks so I popped in the pawns to see what was new. Got all of this for $43 after taxes. Keeping Catherine and putting the rest up on my sale/trade thread then ebay.
All CIB except Mario Kart which is missing the manual.

Thanks everyone. That particular thrift store is my favorite for a reason and I rue the possible day when they start looking stuff up on the internet.
I just now managed to clean all of them. You couldn't tell in the picture, but some of them were pretty dirty, a lot dirtier than they looked. Many q-tips have lost their lives this weekend. So far the ones I was really pleased about tested okay, but I haven't had time to go through all of them yet.
And then, of course, I read stuff like this:

He was referring to the DSi being used as a GBA. But if you cant get an NES cart to work with thorough cleaning its time to retin.Michi wrote:And end up getting nervous when it comes to testing the restFragems wrote:If he can get the carts to read that is.
