...I was referring to the hardcore smash players that take it seriously and call it a real 'fighting game' with deep and advanced tech, better than other FGs for 1v1 matches... in which, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions on, but I hate when they talk that mess like their opinions are fact. Especially to other FG communities... Lots of annoying uneducated players talk mess and blatant nintendo fanboyisms ensue.
Well, I guess I'm one of the people you hate then. I absolutely think Smash can be enjoyed as a 'real' fighting game. I also think it's a hilariously fun party game too.
Listen, I just hate the "Smash is one of the best 1v1 fighters ever made and you <insert FG> is dumb>" arguments I have encountered many times, on many boards. I don't hate anyone unless they give me reason, lol.

Yup, I'm all about the drama. Nothing more I love than starting a fight over the internet.

What do you have against online play in fighters?
I thought I made it clear that I was a Smash Bros. fan. Have you played that game online?!
You two really need to settle this like gentlemen. Divekick. Whoever wins the match is right. alienjesus wins? Then Smash is every bit as tourney worthy as a 'real' fighter. cha cha wins? Then Smash is not tourney worthy. The end.

But to not consider it for a 'definitive' N64 title because you have personal bias against it, is silly. Measured against other party-style brawlers out there, especially at the time it was released, it clearly stands head and shoulders above the rest AND pleased nintendo's mass of rabid fanboys who wanted to see their fave characters square off against each other, all at the same time.
Yeah I am the opposite. I usually get bored and dont care for most fighters, but Smash was a blast with a group of friends. Solo though... meh.
They really should focus more on the game levels mode (whatever it's called). It's a great idea, but executed so lazily. That would give it a bit more single-player appeal.
