Also, I didn't have any issues with platforming/jumping.

I did want to, as I've heard from plenty of folks whose opinion I respect that it is an enjoyable game. But no, it is not. At least not for me. It is either frustrating, annoying, boring, or all three.

As for the mechanics, I sent noise a video of me trying to climb a plane and the game glitching out like fuck and not letting me jump or climb like I should be able to. This was after a section where I had to burn cloth with lanterns to knock the plane out of a tree (what amazing design ideas!!). Here is someone else with the problem. This is probably the third bug I've encountered in 90 minutes. So yeah, I think I am done.

FWIW, I also don't like the first Arkham Batman game (I played 2-3 hours of it, iirc). Haven't touched the others.

That's the part that feels like you just don't want to like it. I've hit nothing frustrating/annoying in 10 hrs. And I find it the exact opposite of boring.

But again, different strokes...

This part surprises me. I've not seen a single bug in my game.

Must be your setup or some file corruption. Did you verify your game cache on steam.

Didn't run into any problems on my end aside from one occasion where I launched an enemy through the floor :P.

I do have to say though I didn't find any of the other characters really interesting. I guess the fact that there was very little interaction with them outside of cut scenes kept me from really caring about them.

The only issues I ran into at launch time were a handful of hard crashes (and TressFX performance issues), but Googling around shows that the game does have some known bugs, even on consoles.

Doesn't mean everyone will run into them. I mean, when I played the Uncharted games, all three of the PS3 ones hard locked on me once as well. Doesn't change that they ran great the other 99.999% of the time.

The rest of the cast was meh, but the plot isn't the strongest part either way. Perhaps subsequent games will take the comparisons to the Descent to heart and skew darker

This is the guy that didn't like XCOM:EU or Fire Emblem, not sure anything can be done to save him at this point ... :)

He called XCOM and Tomb Raider both boring. Pfft.

Dave just hates fun. Arkham Asylum, Fire Emblem, XCOM, and Tomb Raider? How can you not like a single one of those?

Pffft.

(FWIW I like Uncharted more than Tomb Raider)

I just finished Tomb Raider for 360 and thought it was fantastic, if not very challenging (even on hard mode). The gameplay and graphics are phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys third-person shooters with platforming elements.

so I beat the new Tomb Raider last night. Took me 13 hrs, which I'm shocked to say I did in just 4 days. The game really grabbed me, and I enjoyed the ride. Rushing down ziplines, clinging to the sides of mountains and sniping bad guys in the back of the head w/ arrows. So much fun!
