I am not a big fan of the N64, and it was mostly disappointing to me, but I still think it is superior to the 32X. The Sega CD on the other hand...

In my list I originally had Jet Force Gemini, but removed it to keep it tighter, and I'm not a fan of the Smash Bros series, though oh so many people (and friends) are.

I feel like we're about to enter "unpopular opinions" zone, but I still think the N64 > Sega CD. The competition is much, much fierce, though.

And combine the Genesis, 32X, and SegaCD together and you blow the N64 out of the water. No comparison there.

I figure you'd love the Sega CD, it's got a pretty solid RPG library after all. The Lunars, Shining Force CD, Popful Mail, Eye of the Beholder...

Unless I'm just reading your post wrong.

You'd have to either be a straight up Nintendo fanboy, fiercely anti-Sega, or have very little familiarity with the library of those systems to disagree with that.

Yeah, Sega CD is weird is that it is seemingly feast or famine. Really awesome or really bad, not a lot of in between.

I enjoyed some of the 64. Obviously the Zelda games are high quality. I love Ogre Battle 64. Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Starfox, Turoks, Blast Corps, SW Shadows of the Empire and Ep 1 Racer, BattleTanx Super Smash, and even the Mario Party games were all enjoyable. Some of these arent as fun to play now as then and haven't aged well.

This has turned into awesomeness.

A 32x vs N64 debate is revolutionary.

32x automatically wins though because it's a lot more XTREME!

Oh and naughty ads:

I do love it. I am saying the N64 beats the 32X but not the Sega CD, or that it is very close.

I hate Smash as much as the next guy (hate even more that fanboys consider it a real fighting game to be measured against the greats of all time, but i don't wanna go down that rabbit hole anymore.)
But to not consider it for a 'definitive' N64 title because you have personal bias against it, is silly. Measured against other party-style brawlers out there, especially at the time it was released, it clearly stands head and shoulders above the rest AND pleased nintendo's mass of rabid fanboys who wanted to see their fave characters square off against each other, all at the same time.
