I just watched Raging Bull. At first I wasn't really impressed, but as the film went on I found myself being pulled in deeper and deeper. When the credits appeared, my jaw dropped and I said "That's all? What happens next?!" The acting is superb, the directing wonderful, and frankly the them is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Really, really great film.

Saw Zack and Miri Make a Porno. It's as good as all other Kevin Smith movies of recent years. I laughed til I lost my voice somewhat. The trailers don't and can't do it justice.

I just watched The Enforcer, the third Dirty Harry movie. Honestly, I liked it more than the second. We'll have to see what I think of the fourth and fifth when I get my hands on them.

Watched Kung-Fu Killer starring David Carradine - wow, what a freaking awesome film! I'm a huge fan of the original Kung-Fu TV series, so when I found out David Carradine had made a pair of Kung-Fu movies for Spike TV I had to check them out. I was a bit aprehensive at first, TV produced movies are usually terrible (for instance, I have come to dread to words "A Sci-Fi original movie!") but Spike really pulled out all the stops for this one - it's well filmed, has a good cast and is actually shot in China. Anyways, the story is your typical Kung-Fu affair - Carradine plays the White Crane, an American orphan raised by a female Martial Arts master, but then one day the school is attacked and his master is killed! REVENGE!! For the most part the story & acting is pretty hokey, but the fight sequences are well choreographed, well shot and pretty bloody. I'm not going to pretend that Kung-Fu Killer is a good film, because it's not - it's a trashy TV movie, but more importantly it's very obvious that the people involved are fans of the Martial Arts genre and of the Kung-Fu TV series, and while not everyone will enjoy this, if you are a fan of Martial Arts and of Carradine's earlier work you could do a lot worse than checking out Kung-Fu Killer.

It's a made-for-TV adaptation of the novel of the same name, a novel written by the same author as "I Know What You Did Last Summer". Ironically, both are major deviations from their original source materials (the former didn't have a serial killer).

Anyway, the plot follows the main character Sarah, a California teen who moves to a small town in Massachusetts. As it turns out, her new house is the home of a 17th Century woman who was tried as a witch and burned at the stake, now located at the park near her house. And the rest of the plot is your standard teen-oriented book-to-TV-movie affair: stuff happens, there's weirdness afoot, et cetera.

It was okay.

And that dude with the black hair is Christian Campbell. And yes, he IS the brother of Neve Campbell. His credits also include Trick (a gay rom-com set in New York City), Reefer Madness The Movie Musical (the made-for-TV adaptation of the musical based on the classic exploitation film), and various TV work (including Book of Daniel and All My Children). He's also an accomplished stage actor (aside from both the original LA and NYC productions of Reefer Madness, he's also been in Tick, Tick BOOM!).

A cookie for anyone who has seen something with this guy in it.

Finally watched Hellboy 2, which was good. Nice artistic style and some great action sequences. The characters feel a bit dated, like they're out of the eighties or something, but they are still pretty likable.

Also saw Tropic Thunder, which was pretty damn funny. Full of great quotes. Most of them from Robert Downey Jr.
"I know who I am! I'm the dude, playing the dude, disguised as another dude".
"I'm a lead farmer, motherfucker!"
Tom Cruise was the show stealer though

Watched a little bit of the original Terminator on tv recently. That movie is still cool after all this time.

You know a great movie I want to watch again sometime soon is Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

I just watched Red Lion, starring Toshiro Mifune. It's somewhat difficult placing this film, as it seems a comedy yet strays into serious territory concerning the peasants and the Meiji Restoration. Still, very good, and it shows Mifune's strengths as an actor. It's not all sword fights and action, but if you're a fan of Japanese cinema from the 60s and 70s, definitely check this one out.

"Say Uncle" on Logo. It stars Peter Page (Queer as Folk, Rick and Steve), who also directed, as a man who loves kids but parents jump to serious conclusions.

Also watched part of "The Red Queen Kills 7 Times" last night. It's pretty good, but I need to start watching it from the beginning again since while I was watching it, I was also watching "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" on Cartoon Network. I was watching the former on my laptop.

I watched Mad Mad Mad Mad World and Holiday Inn yesterday. It had been years since I watch Mad World, and it still holds is luster until the last ten.

Holiday Inn is just Bing, whoever doesnt love Bing is a fool. Thats my supremely closeminded statement for the day. Actually Holiday Inn is one of my best friends favorite films and it is just as timeless as Wonderful Life, Arsenic and Old Lace, or Harvey.
