You have to kill the 'gatekeepers' (may or may not be their names... I forget) as soon as you can, whenever they appear. They're green in colour. You always get a warning whenever they appear. Then a human should be freed and you fly over to the, pick them up and try and get them back to the green terminal thingy.
Thanks, that's good to know. That was the one thing that was bugging me is not knowing how to save the humans

Man, I love how seamless everything is on PS4. I can jump in and out of a game quickly and easily. I also tried the remote play with my Vita and it worked without a hitch. I'm still in awe of the idea of playing PS 4 games on the Vita. In terms of overall performance I'm really liking the PS 4.

I played a little bit of Contrast and found it rather intriguing.

I played a chunk of Assassin's Creed 4 this weekend and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I found 3 kind of boring but decided to get 4 anyway because pirates. :) With the ship travel, this game feels pretty massive. I realize I could have grabbed this on an older console, but I'm sure enjoying playing it on my main TV and having it look so beautiful. There's also something to be said for the experience of using the new consoles that goes beyond games. I think that people discount the quality that a smooth UI and overall better interface brings.

Correct on that but just for info, I just got a 60 gig PS3 from Gamestop for 129 to my door. It is a back up for my other one so I should be good for a long while.

Started Knack today, not even finished with chapter 1-2 and it already feels like one of the worst platformers I've ever played AND one of the worst beat 'em ups I've ever played

Oh, and that shitty iphone app doesn't even work. Every time you sign into PSN, it kicks you out of the app then asks you to sign in again when it boots back up. Utterly worthless

Lego Marvel Super Heroes isn't exactly a masterpiece. Like every Lego game I've played it is very sloppily designed, but it's at least FUN, which Knack hasn't been so far.

Yeah, I'm glad I cancelled my pre-order for Knack and changed it to Lego Marvel Super Heroes instead. I agree the latter still feels pretty sloppy and clumsy though, but it is fun.

I've yet to play Knack, but it does look pretty dire.

Yeah, Lego Marvel Super Heroes is fun when it's just being a puzzle platformer. It gets really shitty when it tries to be an action game though. All the boss battles I've been in so far have been complete and utter garbage. You have to figure out some puzzle to beat them, but the whole time the game is thowing waves of enemies at you that respawn faster than you can blink, making it impossible for you to ever take moment just to THINK. It's aggravating and I wish they had just removed boss battles from the game entirely. Combat in general is just shitty in Lego games and it seems like this will never change because the designers are just lazy and coasting on the series' success.

So far the most impressive PS4 games I've played are Assassin's Creed and Resogun, and I feel like AC doesn't even count since it's a last gen game. Lego Marvel is okay, but not great, and again, it's not even a real PS 4 game. Knack is just annoying and feels like a game created by market researchers rather than actual artists with a passion for their craft.

Not a great launch line up. I might have been better served with a Wii U if I wanted a bunch of great games to play through the holidays. Right now it seems to have a lot more quality titles available than both the PS4 and the Xbox One combined. Probably won't be until halfway through next year before we see some great PS 4 titles. I'm kind of looking forward to the enhanced Tomb Raider port, just so I can finally have a reason to play that damn thing. And the Super Turbo Edition of Guacamelee since that was one of the best games of the year.

Give Killzone a try, Gamerforlife. It does some interesting things in terms of mechanics with the standard FPS formula.

Got to play a PS4 for a little bit today. The system is pretty nice looking, but much deeper than I expected. The controller is much better than the PS3, but I still don;t like it. It's bizarre to me that Sony target the design and price point of the Playstation family to be a luxury entertainment item, and then make the most important part of the hardware interface - the controller - out of lightweight, cheap feeling plastic that feels like a childrens toy. It felt too light and fragile, the plastic felt cheap, the buttons felt to shallow, the sticks felt a little rubbery and the triggers, whilst much improved from the PS3, felt terrible in comparison to the Xbox 360 triggers or the Wii U's ZL and ZR buttons. Baby steps I guess though - it's nice to see them make some bigger changes from the frankly horrendously out of date Playstation 1 controller design.

The game I got to play was Resogun. It was pretty fun, and I liked it. The difficulty seemed a little easy perhaps, it certainly didnt seem as chaotic as the likes of Geometry Wars, even on Veteran difficulty. It's a simple little game, but it's some good times. The explosions at the end of the level actually showed off the PS4's power pretty well I felt.

It's still early days for me with these new consoles (in fact, I haven't even gotten a PS3 yet, never mind a PS4), but what little I've seen seems OK. I'm just waiting for there to be a reason to buy one still - nothing appeals yet. I'll give it a few years to get going I think. I'll stick with my Wii U for now.
