The PS4 thread
Re: The PS4 thread
You're a desperate dude. Well, have fun.
Re: The PS4 thread
Enjoy the PS4! Perhaps we can play something together at some point - add me (dsheinem) if you aren't already on...
Despite your anecdote, it is worth mentioning that both The Xbox One and PS4 sales have been pretty close and both have been strong at around 2-3 million, all of which bodes well for gamers as a whole.

Re: The PS4 thread
GamerforLife's story is similar to what I've heard. I don't know a single person who wants or has an Xbox One other than a certain person who believes Microsoft is the only reason gaming is still around. I don't know how well they are keeping in stock here, but I know the demand isn't that high.
I wonder if they would be willing to release any demographics or information relating to where the high sales are. I think that would be interesting.

Walmart by my friends place has no PS4 or Xbox One consoles in stock. Plenty of Wii U consoles though.
Re: The PS4 thread
Saw an Xbox one on the shelf at Wal Mart but sadly no PS4.

Re: The PS4 thread
I teach post 16 year olds and trust me, the Xbox One seems to be the more popular choice with the majority of the 16 - 24 year olds I teach, particularly the 16 - 18 range. Not to be a conceited dick, but it's mostly because none of them know anything about gaming and just think it's the best, because they already think the 360 is the best. Not that I would say the Xbox One is bad (at least at this early stage), being a Sony fan myself, but it does seem there is still plenty of fan loyalty and because the 360 was more successful here in the UK, many of the same crowd seem to be sticking with the Xbox One.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I don't know a single person who wants or has an Xbox One other.

A lot of people like to stick within the same ecosystem. Whether it's games, phones, computers, clothes, etc. I don't see any issue with that.
Re: The PS4 thread
Yeah, I get that. I've mostly developed an attitude due to having to listen to them go on and on, for months on end, about how much better the Xbox One is going to be, because "it's an Xbox"ZenErik wrote:A lot of people like to stick within the same ecosystem. Thanks. I'm definitely enjoying my new PS4. I didn't have any issues with it working or setting it up. I'm assuming they ironed all that stuff out after the first batch of consoles got sold. I played some Resogun for free (that discounted PS+ membership I got on Black Friday is paying off) and it's pretty cool, though I'm sort of confused about what I'm supposed to do to get humans out of those boxes and save them.ZenErik wrote:You're a desperate dude. I'm enjoying how much faster things are compared to my PS3. The higher resolution on this console is noticeable too. I like the Wii-fied controller with its speakers and touch screen, and I LOVE that they added an option for headphones. Kudos to Sony for giving us what modern TVs should have always had. I Just wish the game selection was a bit bigger, but I guess I'm expecting too much from something that just launched. Another minor gripe is how short the power cord is. Given the nature of how my entertainment center is currently set up with the TV, cable box, and a bunch of consoles already hogging the surge protector behind the TV, I had to get an extension cord to plug my PS4 into the wall socket on the adjacent wall.
The guy who was at Gamestop to return his non-functional Xbox One this morning actually mentioned that to me. He has a group of people he is used to gaming with on the 360, so he naturally bought an Xbox One. Felt like the poor guy was trying to defend his choice of getting an Xbox One as all of us were there to get PS4sZenErik wrote:A lot of people like to stick within the same ecosystem. Nice guy though, when we went inside I wandered around for a second looking to find some games, but then went in line when I realized they wanted those of us there for PS4s to quickly get in line to pick them up. Even though he got in line before me to return his Xbox One, he offered to let me go ahead of him since I had been standing outside since before he arrived waiting to get in.

You have to kill the 'gatekeepers' (may or may not be their names... I forget) as soon as you can, whenever they appear. They're green in colour. You always get a warning whenever they appear. Then a human should be freed and you fly over to the, pick them up and try and get them back to the green terminal thingy.Gamerforlife wrote: though I'm sort of confused about what I'm supposed to do to get humans out of those boxes and save them.
