What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

God damn it.
Do you mean Terminator:Salvation? In that case technically its T4.
Terminator 5. T3 was "Rise of the Machines". Salvation was the 4th film.
Dang I hadn't even heard there was a 5th film coming out. Sounds interesting if the wiki is accurate. Interesting that they are starting up another trilogy.

Sorry, I thought it was probably old news.

Daenerys Targaryen is Sarah Connor now according to IGN. Now, if you gave me a film where a hot naked queen rains down fire from atop her dragon onto Terminators then I'm in. Otherwise I see another cynical attempt to milk a franchise that had summed up everything you needed to know in the first two films.

The Dead (2010)

I am pretty much lenient with zombie flicks... but wow. This was that kind of bad where you just can't shake it. Perhaps after coming out of a Romero marathon my next watch being disappointing was inevitable. The zombies just looked and acted really bad, the special efforts were cheap looking in a bad plasticy way, and the lead actor was just embarrassing to watch. Would not recommend...

There are a lot of just downright terrible zombie movies out there.

Superman was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, I think there was 40min of just jumping and punching. It really destroyed what Superman means. Worst reboot I can think of...

Terminator doesn't need a reboot, but at least they did cast someone who has played a military leader, so I'm fine with Targaryen.

EDIT: THE DEPARTED...

and I missed the last half hour as I thought it was over, and it was on cable tv, so that's a double whammy.

Interesting how Marky and Leo still have that underlying "I still hate you" chemistry that they've had since the B-Ball days. Still not a fan of most movies starring Wahlberg but he can be convincing when challenged.

I quite liked Salvation. I'm more than welcome to the idea of a new Terminator film.

I'm still disappointed that Sarah Connor Chronicles was cancelled.

I wasn't too impressed by Salvation. The future depicted seemed a lot less harsh than the brief glimpses we see from T1 and it made it seem like the humans were on a slightly even footing with Skynet. They had a nuclear sub for christ sake. T1 makes it clear that Kyle and John's plan is a last gasp gambit. A lot of the performances were very one note as well, Bale's in particular.

I also don't think you can make a PG-13 Terminator or Robocop film. The bloody violence is the punctuation of the film and adds a layer of realism to a unrealistic plot.

But that's just me. I thought Dredd wasn't violent enough.

Right when the show seemed to be hitting it's groove, too.
