I agree with Luke. A good review doesn't even need video as it is. If I want video, I can look it up myself, and without some goofball cracking cringe inducing jokes every five seconds. If YT doesn't back down on this, maybe I can actually use the website to search for video game stuff without being assaulted by hundreds of LET'S PLAY and "review" videos, making it almost impossible to find what I'm actually looking for.

Also CGR reviews are terrible. They are the definition of someone dicking around with a game and barely telling you anything of value. Some of his videos are just him talking nonsense for 10 minutes and arbitrarily showing gameplay footage. People eat it up relentlessly though, so I guess I just simply don't understand the humor and appeal.

If they do that then people start bitching about how they take themselves too seriously. You can't please everyone.

Put me in the "Thank God" column. I hate "Here's a game" videos and I'm glad they'll be wiped off the map. Rarely with any insight and never with any intelligence, I abhor 99% of the video game "reviews" online.

Your typical review is "Here's the game and it sucks. Why? Because". That or "This game is awesome. Why? Because". I'd much rather play a game than watch some asshat play it and criticize it without explaining what criteria they use. It's always "This sucks" or "This is awesome" and that's about it.

Plus there is this thing called Terms of Service. A free service at that.

I have to agree with Luke et all on the 'Most, like almost all, online VG reviews suck' line of thinking.

I mean, we are speaking to "generalizations" here about his blanket accusations on their quality. But all the vast majority of YT VG reviews are "generalized" comments about "like it", "hate it" or "i dunno guys, what did YOU think about it ?(Cuz I can't even come up with an angle to stick to!)"

I also dislike stuff like AVGN and all the other gimmick/schtick crap out there. Because they aren't telling me a damn thing I don't know about anything, often try to sway my opinion to theirs without any form of real insight and are blatantly popularity mongering for better "ratings" or whatever YT measures them by.

I can't say I'll miss much of it and there is not one thing I regularly watched, aside from random Mega 64 clips which also got tiresome after like 5 mins.

You're not alone. I don't get that guy either.
It really is nonsensical B.S. with a few random pauses thrown in for effect.
His fan base (I call them worshipers) though is something to behold. They hold the dude up like he's the second coming.
