I've done it. It really is. Work is work, no matter what you do. Sometimes it might be more fun, or you might find the subject matter more interesting, but there are going to be times where you love it and times you completely hate it, no matter what.

Sorry, I'll never consider reviewing video games on Youtube to be "work" - to me, it falls into the category of "profitable hobby". I'm sure there is a certain amount of effort that goes into producing videos (for a few people, not all, considering some folks only put out a new video once a month) but for the most part, this isn't a situation where people are working 40 hours a week, or even 40 a month.

Fine by me. Make people play the damn game.
General_Norris wrote:"I don't like it so I'm glad it and everything even remotedly like it even stuff I have never ever heard of is gone" is a terrible thing to think. It's a childish argument and you know that, Luke.

Of course, if something you liked like Stand Up Comedy or Sports were on the line we would be hearing your rants from outer space.
You are way off.

No, I don't want to see some dump "review" a stand-up performance or a sports game. Guys outside of an arena going batshit insane over their team? Sure. Seeing the game with a voice over? Forget that nonsense.

It's simple: Online video game reviews suck. Hard. If an online video game "reviewer" made a "review" on, say, money here's how it would go:

Here is a one dollar bill *shows one dollar bill* it sucks.

Here is a ten dollar bill *shows ten dollar bill* it's okay.

Here is a twenty dollar bill *shows twenty dollar bill* it's pretty cool.

Here's a fifty dollar bill *shows fifty dollar bill* it's not as good as...

*shows hundred dollar bill* This is awesome!

That is such a gross oversimplification and generalization if I've ever seen one. Come on man. :?

Edit: For every 14 year old doing your definition of a review, there's another guy making a living doing in depth analysis and constructive critique, spending upwards of 8 hours a day working at it.
Older. Not wiser.

What about people that do actually good reviews like CGR?

Waiting for someone to prove me wrong.

There are one or two game reviews I've watched out of hundreds that were worth watching. Everything else is "Here's a game".

Seriously, the Retronauts podcast would actually teach you something. Online reviews are guys dicking around and just showing you a game.

Luke, I understand what you're saying. It's kind of like how every single stand-up comic just does the "and what is the deal with airplane food?" thing right?

RIGHT?

Most comedians suck. It would be amazing if they banned stand up.

If this is considered to be good, I would hate to see what bad looks like.

Hey, here is a game. Look at it as I talk mindlessly.
