Gameboy Camera and Other Various Awkward Peripheral Storage

Post by sorcerer311 »

I've been keeping my Gameboy Camera in an old GI Joe "footlocker" for ages with my Gameboys and various peripherals. I feel like this isn't the best plan of action for storing the camera itself, but it's just such an awkward shape.

What are some of your storage methods for oddly shaped gaming accessories that are just a bit too large for typical media storage?

all of my awkward peripherals get shoved into the same drawers as my controllers and such.

I use banker's boxes for my controllers and systems when I'm not using them, but I like to display the games at all times. It's nice to just look over once in a while.

At my job, I get boxes of merchandise that has to be opened up and put out on the sales floor.

Some of these boxes are small and sturdy. They have special flaps on them, and they shut pretty good.

They look like those long baseball card boxes but bigger.

Go to a hardware store or similar place, and on the day they get stuff in, ask them for those boxes.

I have a cheap plastic stand with three drawers you can pull out (picked it up at Walmart) and I stuff all the odd controllers/extra controllers in the bottom drawer. The middle drawer is sega controllers and the top is nintendo controllers.

That's about all I have for "awkward" items. Though I still have yet to find a good place for my Odyssey 2 games...or the system it's self since it's old and it has to have one of those special gold connector thingy's to work on my tv from the 90's. Same with my Atari 2600...I really need a switcher box with those special plugin's for those systems.

You want to know what I use?

No joke. That's one half of a box from an LCD monitor I got for my mom for Mother's Day. I wanted some sort of container to house my controllers/peripherals/manuals/etc. But the plastic containers I looked in stores at did not have the dimensions needed for perfect storage underneath the rack where I keep my systems (either too long, not deep enough, or too tall to even put underneath the rack in the first place). This box was basically perfect for what I wanted. Only problem? Nothing covering it, which leads to dust buildup, making the stuff look like this:

As you can see, there are Sega Saturn controllers with a good amount of dust on it (chalk it up to lack of use, my Saturn itself has a hat covering it right now).

god, that is a nightmare for someone with mild OCD like me.

some dudes over at the cover project use UGC's with gator board in them, cut to fit the peripheral.

Yep, I don't care too much about how my controllers and accessories are stored, as long as they're stored. Yet, I'm a lot more particular about my game carts and how they're stacked and stored on my bookshelf.
