Don't worry about it too much Luke. A lot of people loved the ending but i though it was meh. God Infinite was such a letdown.

Frown: This semester is killing me. I don't think I'll pass my two toughest classes, no matter how hard I prepare. I have 5 exams (1 regular, 4 final), and they're all very brutal core classes. The most terrifying part? My easiest exam will be in astrophysics. Yeah, I think I'm in over my head. I need to get the hell out of engineering...

I think that's just a bolo tie.

And speaking of ties, I don't own any, but then again I've never had the need for one. But when I move to NYC, no doubt one of my jobs will require wearing one and then I'll just buy one from a thrift store.

:) Two final presentations today. Once I get through those, it's smooth sailing to the end of the semester.

 My first presentation is fucked. I want to punch whoever even came up with the concept of "group" projects for finals. Who does that? This is going to be an incoherent mess. I wish I was lucky enough to be one of the three people in the class with the foresight to take the solo assignment back in September.

:| I also have a cold.

Group work is a useful instructional and training tool as many professions will require you to be able to do similar kinds of collaborative work and do it well. Yes, group problems are all but inevitable, but that too is part of the learning process.

When i assign group projects I almost always let people choose their own groups - things tend to run MUCH more smoothly when that happens.

I was almost really screwed by group work. One in the group plagiarized some of their portion of the report. And the professor was going to report all of us to the board and have us auto failed from the course. This was my 2nd to last semester and I couldn't retake this course until the following fall semester, which would've set me back an extra year.

After meeting and discussing with him and showing our work breakdown, and with the offending member taking accountability, I was excused from disciplinary action. We had an F on the assignment which dropped my A to a C, but I was able to keep going and not disrupt my graduation schedule. So in the end it worked out, but I could've easily been screwed over. Cautionary tale to all those still in school.

That's a tough case. I am surprised that the prof didn't give the rest of you a grade for the remaining portion of the work given the admission of the guilty student - seems quite unfair from my perspective. Was it plagiarism that the rest of the group should have reasonably been able to catch themselves in the proofreading and editing process?

Have you sold that tie rack yet?

Probably. We just trusted each would do their part. And finally finished and merged it together night before it was due. So unfair maybe, I just felt fortunate no plagiarism on my record. Some hard ass profs wouldve made us all accountable because we submitted it with our name on it.
