Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hey everyone! I stumbled across this site while looking for info on the systems I played when I was a kid (Sega Master System, Genesis, NES, Gameboy, Game Gear, etc) and have been reading everything I can find ever since.
Today, I started my retro gaming collection (besides whatever hardware survives in my parents' storage) with a NeoGeo Pocket Color game pack. I got it at my local used game store (WABA Games in Duluth, GA) and it came with the system and 6 games (Turf Masters, Metal Slug 1s tMission, Samurai Showdown 2, Pac-Man, King of Fighters 2, Fatal Fury Contact)
As far as modern systems, I pretty much stick to the PC and the DS. Modern controllers give me problems for some reason. I can never quite get a hang of the buttons. ::shrug::
Anywho, Hi!

zarathstra, since you live in my neck of the woods, give the PlaynTrade at Peachtree Corners a whirl. Dave may not have all the stock on the newer games like other stores, but he has a nice selection of retro games and is a good guy to boot.
Not only that, he just slides the price tags under the plastic on the cases. So sometimes the products are not priced because they fell out, but man alive if thats not the most brilliant retailing idea Ive ever seen.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hello all, long time reader first time poster.
I'm from the east coast of the USA and I've been gaming for most of my life. I collect/hoard anything I can get my hands on including arcade cabinets
. Currently wasting away in college and programming my first game.
I'm a newbie here but I've been in the online gaming scene since the early days of the web. So if you have any questions related to emulation, the Dreamcast scenes and software, console hardware etc etc just me a holler!

Oh hello there, perhaps a little late to introduce myself but whatever...
Well i am Haruspex (duh!) and i am 23 years old and i am male (duh!)
A short gaming background (that doesn't include a complete list of consoles i have/had and or played, just some key points)
- I started gaming at age of 6 with an Amstrad CPC 128.
- Then about 2-3 years later i got myself a Nintendo along with Super Mario Bros 1 and 3, as well the gold cartridge of Zelda!
- Then i got a Super Nintendo and later a Mega Drive (Genesis) as well.
- Although i was gaming for years i think i really started in to gaming when i was a teenager and got a Playstation 1. The reasons are that i was buying more games, i knew was at was buying because i was reading magazines and finally and most important my gaming skill that time was far superior to that when i was a kid.
- Finally i got a PC, then PS2 and recently a XBOX 360. I am mostly a PC gamer right now but i don't forget about console gaming as well.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hey, Introducing myself, my name's Patrick, I like to read, conversate and party...gaming goes without saying. My fave retro games are The Guardian Legend, Blaster Master (neither of which I've beaten) all the Zelda's and some FF's... I listen to tool, nin and some occasional John Denver.
Other retro games I like...Castlevania series, Batman on NES, Mega Man 2, all the mario's, Shadowgate... generic perhaps, but that's what I like.
Most under-rated game? The Guardian Legend in my opinion. The most over-rated? I may be shot but it's River City Ranson in my, again, humble opinion. It's all over 90% of "top ten" list, so obviously I missed something. Favorite gem I've found I never played before? Vectorman for Genesis, totally missed that one. OK, that's it.
-Patrick
-note, yes I'm putting off the victory of Blaster Master and TGL for a later date.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
My Intro, Here Goes:
Im a rookie compared to most of the Introductions I have read but anyway, I'm 22 years old, and I started out owning the SNES system, while playing NES at friends before then.
I own few Atari collectibles, and Sega Console equipment that I wont get rid of most of it. I'm a vintage games Yard/Garage Sale collecting freak.
Fore the Newer systems, Ive owned PS2, PSX, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, but keep trading them in for other systems and/or Electronics, I like PC some and ONLY if it's Madden Series and/or The Sims.
Favorite Sports Franchise(Any): John Madden
Favorite Fighting Series(Any) Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct/Street Fighter while it lasted.
Favorite Action Game(PSX): Matt Hoffman 1/2
Favorite Game of All-Time: Mario All-Stars
Still Waiting to get my Hands on Super Mario: Brawl (Wii)
