Video game Box Restore ( Part 1 )

Post by gamedudemat »

My wife embarks on a quest to restore my crushed boxed copy of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Deathkeep.

Nice job and a great idea misting the inside to avoid burning the paper and "steaming flat" with the Iron!

I use various color markers to cover outer tears, black is the easiest to color match. Color in a little and rub lightly with a finger or tissue to blend it in.

Eh, I don't like filling in tears like that. It will never match. Markers and things will fade too. IMHO that's just adding extra damage. It would be like a bad bondo and spot paint job on a car.

I'd just sell the crappy version of said game to someone who doesn't care, pocket your returns, and then put it towards a nicer copy. That's just me. I was with you on the iron...then I saw the tape. NOOOOOOOOOO.

On the other hand, though, there's not really much else you can do with tears. I mean if your only options are 1.) Do nothing or 2.) Replace it, you might as well do whatever you can to make it look better for yourself.

At least that's the way I see it.

If you're going to do "touch ups" though, make sure you disclose that if/when you ever sell.

I will have to try that, after all there will be a part 2 where this gets wrapped up.
