I've never beaten it either. In fact, I've never beaten the first colossus. I find it beautiful and interesting, but it just hasn't clicked the couple of times I've tried it. Okami had the same issue with me.

Well in my defense, I got to the last colossus and then my memory card took a dump on me and by the time I wanted to go back to it, I had moved on to the PS3. I have the HD collection, just need to go back and get it done.

Actually I had been thinking recently about tracking down a PS2 copy just to see how good I could get it looking on PC. Maybe pointless since I have the PS3 HD collection as well. But it's def one of my favorite games of all time, so also a bit curious...

Actually I had been thinking recently about tracking down a PS2 copy just to see how good I could get it looking on PC. Maybe pointless since I have the PS3 HD collection as well. But it's def one of my favorite games of all time, so also a bit curious...

The PS3 version will look better. They don't just bump up the resolution in these HD remakes, often they're also redoing many of the textures, touching up the UI, adding widescreen if the game didn't support it originally, etc etc.

Okami had the same issue with me.

Okami is one of my very favorite games, but it took me three attempts to get started with it. It has one of the slowest introductions in any game, and I did not begin really enjoying the game until I had defeated the second boss. (I was in love by the third boss, however, and I spent nearly 75 hours "completing" the game.)

If it is something that interests you, I recommend sticking with it.

If SOTC was a book, it would be a page turner. Anytime I start it up I have that "No turning back now" kind of feeling, and in a great mind blowing way.

How was the Ico/SotC HD collection btw? I only played the originals when they came out, and was scared to pick them up after the abortion that was the Silent Hill HD collection.

I've played about an hour of Ico and my friend played through all of SotC on the HD collection and had nothing but a pleasant experience. I would say go for it.
