I do not have a PS3. I do not care about graphics and There is very very little I want to own/use gamewise.AppleQueso wrote:Do you have a PS3? I heard about that, but I dont have a HDTV nor do I want one. I also do not have nor care to own a PS3/xbox 360/wii/wii U/3DS/DS etc etc etc. This is just me but after fucking my life up(my fault) and loosing interest in just about everything and selling off my enormous game collection for less than 1/8th of what it was worth or could have gotten for it(again my fault)I can see why you asked though.
I now am on the right track and enjoying gaming again(RPG's especially) which is great. But as I dont care about graphics, and such I am keeping my gaming to only a few things. I do not like handhelds at all but for nostalgia reasons I remember loving/playing pokemon blue on release, so I picked up a GBA SP cheap and a japanese copy cart only of Pocket Monsters Aka(pokemon red in the US) and pokemon leaf green/pokemon sapphire for GBA. I dont want any other handheld games unless they are the japanese pocket monsters games I dont own yet. Aside from that, All I want/care to use is my PS2, Japanese original Playstation, and eventually I plan to pick up something I used to love which is the NEC PC-FX. Aside from those systems I do not want or care to own anything else anymore at this point.
My main focus is to pick up as many games as I can for the JP PS2/JP PSX and when I get a job or if I sell my JP Dreamcast collection i'll be able to afford a PC-FX(very obscure gaming system only released in japan thats not easy to find. The game library is smallish with about I think 50-60 at most games released for it total. It is "32 bit" based. I used to own it and a bunch of games and I beat about 4 or so(all games are japanese of course) and I miss it bigtime so why its on my list). So we will see what happens with everything i'd say. But I dont care or want to own any more systems than those listed and as there are soo many RPG's and good ones at that for JP PS2/PSX i'll have plenty to find/play.
I know about all the HD re-releases for PS3 and such but i'd rather own the PS2 version of any game and HD does not do anything for me personally(I sold off my HDTV I used to have and enjoy my regular flat screen tube TV Sony Trinitron a ton). It is nice to see japanese only games seeing the light of day over here but what it took to bring em over here and such saddens me personally. Plus, that FFX collection you mentioned will have FF X-2 but not FF X-2 international. Soon i'll own both imports so i'll have IMO the better gaming experience.
Also, i've said this before, I am teaching myself japanese so I enjoy playing these games in the japanese language which the US PS3 re-releases wont contain. The Japanese FFX international has the option to play the game in english(text) or Japanese(text) and I am sure the PS3 version will NOT have this option. But playing in japanese text is a big deal to me but thats just personal/my choice. I feel it helps my learning and enjoyment of learning.
To each their own though and I hope everyone that picks up these PS3 re-releases gets enjoyment from them. As thats the point. I think I explained myself as thoroughly and clearly as I can so I will end it here. My Japanese Dragon Quest VII is calling my name as once my package from japan gets here it'll be put away for more wanted titles to play
Have a good one all, and take it easy everyone. Happy gaming!

Uh... all you had to do was say you don't have a Ps3 and don't plan to get one.
Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Decided after hearing the Diablo III Reaper of Souls Expansion announcement that I'd go back and play through the original Diablo, as well as Diablo II and Lord of Destruction (I would follow up with Diablo III, but I've beaten it several times recently). I'm hoping that it times out so that I'm beating LoD right around when RoS comes out.
So far I've put about 10-12 hours into the original, and I'm surprised at how well it holds up. I'm a level 22 Warrior in the 13th level of the dungeon and with the exception of getting stuck on a particular unique monster for a while, I've had a blast with it. Looking forward to finishing it for the first time, and moving on to the sequel for even more nostalgic demon-slaying awesomeness.

Doing it old school, eh? I had a lot of fun with Diablo 1 & 2 back in college.
I'm slowly working my way through Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It's fun, but it gets a little tiresome after a while, so I put it down for a bit after each section.

Agreed. I just like to explain myself as thoroughly as possible so there's little need for retaliation or further questioning. I feel better doing it that way. That's just my way. If my answers are too involved for you or anyone else just stop reading at any time and im sure you'll have your answer sooner than if you read the whole thingAppleQueso wrote:Uh... all you had to do was say you don't have a Ps3 and don't plan to get one.

Same, though it was during my high school years. I'd never really gotten far into the first one though, hence my urge to go back and actually delve into it. Pun fully intended.Stark wrote:Doing it old school, eh? I had a lot of fun with Diablo 1 & 2 back in college.

I enjoy this game to an extent... But for some reason I can only play it for like 10 mins at a time before getting bored and having it feel like a chore. I loved superstar saga though. I wonder how that'd be now if I gave it another playthrough years later.

Yeah what is it about this game? It must be the gameplay, because the characters and story are funny and charming as heck...GazongaJoe wrote:Stark wrote:Doing it old school, eh? I had a lot of fun with Diablo 1 & 2 back in college.
