Bought my cousin a Zelda 3DS XL. That is pretty much it as far as gaming presents. Nobody else in my family nor do any of my close friends really play games. It's lonely out here!

The biggest gamer in my family right now is my Nephew and I got him Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows. I have never played this will it be fine with out playing Aria of Sorrows first? (Not that I think it will bother him but just curious.)

My husband really, really took to Parodius for the PC Engine at a recent NE Racketboy meetup, so with Hobie's guidance I discovered the existence of, and then grabbed from eBay, the Super Famicom version. My husband had no idea an SNES version existed, so there was no way he could have seen this coming.

It just arrived today and I couldn't wait until the end of the month to give it to him, so he opened it, endured some tense moments while I operated on his original SNES to make it playable, and then proceeded to stay up waaaay too late on a weeknight having a total blast and entertaining me with a running commentary ("Now the mountain is angry at me; it turned into a volcano and... is erupting eggplants?!").

I'm glad it's as big a hit as I thought it would be. :)

Only gamer I care about enough to get something is my brother; he loves SNES RPGs, deciding if I should get him Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana.

You must really like your friends.
I thought the same thing, aren't those expensive?

It wasn't ridiculously expensive or anything. It's not like I'm throwing him a copy of Earthbound.

Grabbed a Roku 3 for my Dad, and it's about the same price.

Meaning I don't want to get him something I didn't put any thought into...just some random game or whatever but at the same time I don't want to not get him a gift.

I got him that stanly game on Steam for his birthday, he seems to enjoy it. But it still doesn't solve the christmas issue...hrm.

normally I give my nephew games but this year he gets his motorcycle license so I modded up his motorcycle. was thinking about giving him some of the retro I have been collecting for him.

my oldest niece doesn't play games much thou she loves lollipop chainsaw and gta5 but I have an extra snes and nes that I may see if she wants.

my 5 year old niece is getting a 2ds from my mom so I got her new super mario bros and mario kart ds and she already had a wii so I got her a couple Scooby doo games from the pawn. last year I got her things like super Mario all stars, donkey kong country, Kirby epic yarn, Mario kart, etc. all pawn shop finds.

and my youngster niece is only a couple months so no games.

My girlfriend is a fan of the Dragon Warrior games. She has I and III for the NES plus IV for the DS and several others. I'm debating getting her II or IV for the NES so that she's closer to completing the original collection.

That or a New York Ranger's jersey.
