I started Mirror's Edge (PS3) last night. Apparently, I really like first-person action puzzle games, because I think it is awesome.

I'm hooked on Resogun right now. What a great and unexpected game to start the life of the PS4!

Agreed. Played it the other day Phades' house and it's awesome!8bit wrote:I'm hooked on Resogun right now. What a great and unexpected game to start the life of the PS4!

I don't see how, as it already sounds ridiculously awesome. I need to check that out. I HATED MvC 2's original soundtrackSpaceBooger wrote:Who would have thought that Michael Jackson would make the perfect soundtrack for Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
I've been playing the Michael Jackson remix version of MVC2 on the DC and I can't believe how much the soundtrack has re-motivated me to play this game again. Here is a video of someone else playing the game.
A Michael Jackson soundtrack for MvC2 is more awesome than it sounds.
I LOVE the series, but it definitely helps to take a break from them from time to time so the formula doesn't get too old. This reminds me I need to get back to play DW 8 at some point. It's really good.BurningDoom wrote:
I've been playing Dynasty Warriors 5 (PS2). Mindless hack-n-slash with some very minor RPG-elements added to this particular entry. Just got it in a trade (very scratched, I'm sorry to say, but amazingly I have not run into 1 hiccup yet).
Even though it's so basic, I'm enjoying it. That could be because the last few games I played through were a bit more in-depth and maybe my brain is enjoying the mindless break.
But then I got to a mission I played through like 10 times, and I couldn't beat. So I gave-up and popped in Dynasty Warriors 2 (PS2) from my collection instead, that I hadn't played for years; basically it was like playing for the first time again. A little less graphical wow, and a bit of "fog" in the distance, and the text-boxes and style were different. But other than that, it was basically the same game minus the very minor RPG-elements.
3 entries later, and very little has changed in the series. It's amazing the series has lasted so long with so little change.
A LOT of Japanese games are actually modeled after Dynasty Warriors. They're like an actual genre. I believe people call them "musou games". I actually started playing Senran Kagura Burst on the 3DS and you can see the Dynasty Warriors influence there.
On that note, I'm actually shocked that you can download a game with scantily clad women undressing each other in combat on the 3DS eshop. Times have changed.

Re: What are you playing?
I played Dynasty Warriors 3 for so many damn hours.
My friend bought me Dynasty Warriors 6 or 7 (I can't remember) for PS2 in a Secret Santa situation.
I was really pumped to finally try out a new one (at the time) since I hadn't played any other Dynasty Warriors except 2 and 3, and I was massively disappointed.
I don't know if they fixed this, but the combo system is really silly. Basically every time you land a hit, you can combo one more hit. So this means that chains are infinite as long as someone is there right next to you. It really does just become mindless button smashing.

Re: What are you playing?
Totally not DW- related:
I started playing the JPN version of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere on my PSP Go.
And it is glorious. I can't believe they cut so much out of the Western release. I had just been playing the PSP-native Ace Combat Joint Assault, but in spite of better graphics, its story is so bland and mediocre in comparison, with little-to-no character development, that it makes me sad to even contemplate how great the series could have become had they stuck with similar direction to AC3 (which, to be fair wasn't that popular).
I mean, we had this:

and ended up with stuff like dancing with angels in AC6. I mean, REALLY???

Re: What are you playing?
I tried to play through Wind Waker again. I got further than I did the last time. But I just can't seem to get into 3D Zeldas, no matter how hard I try. I've done the same thing with Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. Yet I absolutely ADORE the 2D Zelda entries.

They have their moments, but there was something cool about 2D Zeldas. I really want to play Link Between Worlds and Link's Awakening. Zelda 2 is still my favorite Zelda game, followed by Link to the PastBurningDoom wrote:I tried to play through Wind Waker again. I got further than I did the last time.
